So what if Cain had an affair...
« on: November 05, 2011, 09:55:26 am »
if it did happen it was twenty one years ago!  He hasn't been caught at anything since...lol!  The fact that he is trying to hide something is much worse than the actual act.  Didn't we learn that from Bill Clinton?  All politicians seem to be power-driven, ego-maniacs and illicit sex, seemingly, allows them to control their engines enough to keep them from ruining a city, county, state, or country.  Given this line of thought I would venture to guess that George W was never exposed to infidelity!

That is the way people are they don't want there secrets out especially when they are running for something. I don't trust politicians I think they all tell us what we want to hear so they could get elected because they promised better healthcare didn't happen more poeple being qualified for medicaid they didn't do that instead they took crap way form the program.  Example: My aunt need tubes put in hear ears she didn't qualify until she blew out her earn drum which could of been prevented and now she has lost hearing but donesn't qualify for a hearing aid  she wouldn't need the hearing aid if they would of let her have the tubes early which in the long run would of saved exspenses.  It just doesn't make since to me.

No not so what! Do not! Do not have an affair on your wife. In any way shape or form. A married man does not approach or refer or speak to another woman in any way that he could not do in front of his wife. I hate to break it to you but, for a married man to sexually harass a woman is also having an affair on his wife. This is selfishness at a level I cannot even fathom. There is no reason for it. This is 2011 if a person no longer wants to be with their mate it's called divorce. The reason why men have affairs on their wives is because they want her and the mistress too. They don't care what happens to either one of them as long as they get what they want and it's disgusting. :angry7: :angry7: :angry7:

I don't recall anyone saying he had an affair.  The charge was sexual harrassment wasn't it?  That can be something like telling an off color joke in the wrong group or an inappropriate touch.  Be that as it may....he still doesn't seem to have the right kind of experience for the job.

I really don't care that much about this "he said, she said" business. Cain's lack of knowledge on most things is more distressing to me. I think he's just a joke of a candidate in general, but this is really a non-issue and just a distraction. I think Cain is just trying to up his stature so he can charge more for appearances, sell books and maybe get a fox news gig. If he does get into the white house, yikes.

Would still be infinitely superior to Obama...

politicians and religous figures need to show some discretion.  private means private and they don't need to run all over the country with their favorite fluseys because they will be seen, and if people see them they will have an opinion.  it's none of my business if my friends husband is cheating on her, but if i see him with this someone in a public place it does make it my business

There should be no "so what" when it comes to anybody, especially those running for leadership in our country. This is not the kind of people I want in authority. If we can't have some decency and some old fashioned morals and values in the halls of our leadership then we are a Nation eroding. The "anything goes" concept has crept in so much that nobody bats any eye anymore. I for one abhor the fact that representatives of our country think nothing of promiscuous sex, drugs, illegal travel, kickbacks, etc., all on the tax payers dime. Corruption is rampant in Washington and the whole lot of them need to be thrown out and we start over.

We are in a sad state of affairs people.

Having a affair and sexual harassment are two different things! I think the parties involved would probably agree!

I agree 100%.  Throw the whole lot out, and instill a system of hefty punishments for immorality and corruption.  No more immunity for committing crimes; make them pay their parking and speeding tickets; let them get labeled as sex offenders for hiring prostitutes.  They should be treated as citizens of this country, not gods.

This lack of common decency is infecting the nation.
People don't even say please, excuse me, or thank you anymore!

Let's hold off before we start making assumptions/accusations about him...yes, he wasn't completely straightforward but he's innocent until proven guilty....we've seen people use people of power to take advantage of situations that happen just because they can (aka: fake assault charges)....time will tell and God is the judge! and yes, harrassment and affair are both wrong, but completely different!

Politicians are trapped if they lie and they are trapped if they are honest. Being caught in a lie can hurt their chances at winning office while telling the truth can put them on bad terms with their followers, campaign contributors and family. Everyone lies but it is much easier for those lies to unfold when you live in the spotlight. I really don't blame politicians for lying about their personal lives because lets face it there are always things we keep from certain people. Your job and home life are separate no matter if you are a politician or not. There are men cheating on their wives all over the country and lying about it and yet they can still go to work, pay taxes and contribute to society. You can't get fired or arrested for cheating on your wife (unless she does the firing perhaps).

That being said family life is separate from work. Lying about home life is natural. Your job is very different. You need to be honest and do your job to the best of your ability or you are not only hurting yourself but the business or government.  No one should be above the law and they should take responsibility when an actual crime is committed.
