Charity begins at home, we all know this, but how far are you willing to go?

I have 2 children of my own, but, I am currently taking care of my daughters best friend which is also 13 years old. I don't have legal custody of her although I do have Power of Attorney for her educational and Medical needs. It is more like she spent the night with my daughter in November of 2007 and just never went back home. I don't mind because I know she is safe and being taken care of. She was at my home for 3 weeks before her mother called to see if she was here but never even asked to speak to her daughter or about her well-being. She wasn't really abandoned but more like neglected. She still has contact with her mother but prefers being here with us as does her mother. We have all grown on each other as though she were blood related. I wouldn't change a thing!

I said yes.  I would most definitely do it.  No matter who it was...my friend, sister, an acquaintance, whatever.  The babies shouldn't have to suffer.

It would be a great idea if FC let us donate to charitable causes with the monies we earn through their site! Maybe they could even match us..but even if they didnt I think it would be a good idea. Id donate some.

Ive done it, its alotof work and patience but no child should have to suffer. About 7 yrs ago a friend of mine was in a very abusive relationship i was friends of both her and her husband. She started drinking and doing drugs and b4 you knew it she was out there bad, of course he just beat her more as she got worse, and one day he went to jail not related to the abuse towards her. He was sentenced to 3 yrs in prison, and she woke up one day and forgot she had four kids. The youngest at the time was 2,and all i could think was how can someone just forget about thier kids? 3yrs passed and she never called or came by, NOTHING!! Well now the father has been out for quite some time and she is remarried with a new baby and much better, drug free, alcohol free everything is gone out her life. The kids dont want much to do with her and thats their own choice they are old enough now to make that decision but if it were me in their shoes i dont think i would wanna talk to my mother either if she did that to me.

Im very willing too. Those children didn't ask to be abandoned and need to be put in a home that is loving and family is the best option due to knowledge of the family and kids relationship

I've always wanted a kid for the sake of having a kid and heir, but yeah.. without the childbirth part. D:
I'd gladly take an abandoned kid in.! (Spoil him/her to death, I will.)

I would definitely bring in a child. I as a child may not of experienced it first hand but I've seen enough to know that no child deserves that kind of treatment from an ill prepared inmature adult.

They do let you do that. When you cash out, you have that option.  ;)

I definitely would. I believe that kids should grow up in a happy and safe environment. They shouldn't have to suffer.

:crybaby2: Sorry about that Kohler. I didn't know I could modify. But still... what if like in this topic I had something to say to a couple of different people, here I quoted them (quote button).. I figured it sends some kind of notification to them like "new reply to your posts" or "you have a response"(since I clicked on the quote button on that persons message specifically) like it did for me when I got this from you... well it does... but what I mean is if I simply modify when talking to several people, they'll still be notified right?  :-[ Sorry I'm not good at explaining things... I'm kinda confusing myself now with what I'm trying to say.

I didn't read the forum rules yet so I'll check there... If I still don't understand I'll modify here.

Hey I just noticed something... you didn't quote me and I was still notified of the response... so I guess that answers my question.   :)
