I quit smoking a long time ago I got tired of coughing and loosing breath started to have trouble shovleing snow. decided to quit had no trouble quiting.

I quit smoking after being in the hospital.  It got me through the first 3 days because I didn't have the willpower to do it myself.  Once I got out, it seemed pretty silly to start back but it took a good year to stop thinking about it.  While it worked for me, I wouldn't recommend kidney failure and congestive heart failure as the best way to quit smoking  ;)

use to do drugs, drink, and cigs. but what made me quit all three was i just got tired of doing that stuff it just got old

I gave up smoking 6 yrs ago. was kinda funny I met my wife she has asthma for the first year i still smoked, but woke up one day was going to work an decided not to buy a pack of cigs.  then went one day at a time .  figured once i got passed the first day i was going to be able to quit.

I have never been an addict but seeing how addiction can affect others I have known and care about is one thing that keeps me from making drugs or alcohol a part of my life.
