How would you spell this name?

There are two common ways to spell the name, but I guess I wanted to be different as I spelled it the uncommon way. 

i would spell it catherine.

I've most commonly seen it spelled Catherine or Katherine. I've never met anyone with the "y" spellings.

If you want it unique you can always just make up some way to spell it "Kaethereen, Cathreen, Kathryeen, etc.".

The problem with that is that when you tell someone your name it will constantly be misspelled. I have an unusual name and even though the spelling seems very appropriate for the way I say it people still mess it up all the time. It gets tiring having to correct people all the time for spelling and pronounciation. In theory it is nice to have a unique name but in practice sometimes it is such a pain I wish I had a normal name.

My favorite way to spell that name is Kathryn ... I just like the way it looks

They are just variations. Either way doesn’t matter. It’s just a matter of the individual’s personal preference.

I know a lady by the name of Catherine and another with the name Katherine.  Either way they get called Cathy or Kathy.

I have a friend named Kathleen ( different name) but her nickname is "Kat". I gues you could call a katherine or kathryn "Kat" and you could call Catherine or Cathryn "Cat". I'm just sayin'

I would definitely have to spell it Kathryn in memory of my sister Kathryn Renee who passed away last year at the age of 56 from liver cancer.

I would choose Catherine as the spelling if I were going to choose this name.

Today there are so many unusual names and spellings that it becomes hard to know how to pronounce some names.

My name is Kathy- not Katherine and I like my name with a K..  but the Katherine's I know spell it that way. A few customers of mine are Catherine's too so I guess it's your choice how you want to spell it.
