Tell them to shut up or none of them will get anything.

I used to put the some umber of package under the tree for each kid to open. Never thought about padding the prest that would have helped also.

Show them an empty tupperware container and a 100 dollar bill.
Ask them which is worth more and which one would they rather have.
Parents need to beat their children more these days, so disrespectful.

You could pad the gifts, make them fit all in the same box.
But that doesnt address the problem directly, just slightly circumvents it.

well, next year you'll know to get them tons of
cheap crap and probably spend less than you would
on a few nice things  they sound like they're
still young enough not to catch on.

You can't. It's just part of being a kid. I have memories of feeling the same way when I was little. They outgrow it, don't stress it.

My granddaughters are 7 and 10.They have not really thought about bigger boxes. They are not into the bigger is better thing. They think the best present to get is notebooks, crayons, markers and a big pack of computer paper. That is the 1st thing they ask for.Anything else is just extra. They draw all the time. The oldest one has gotten into journals because she likes making up stories.

My husband only wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving this year because of issues like this. He says nobody is grateful anymore. For one of my daughter's birthdays, she questioned if that was it." Like she expected more. Everyone just wants more and more. So this year all my kids will get a few gifts and that will be it. If we hear complaining this year, then next year maybe it will just be one gift, until they figure out what Christmas is really about.....which is definitely not greed.
