I am happy pet owner. I love my dog. She is my companion. I make sure she has shots and properly feed, etc. But when I take her out to walk her there are always loose dogs just running the neighborhood. That just really irritates me. I make sure my dog has a lease always. I know it is my responsibility to make sure she doesn't scratch or bite anybody. She is a sweet dog, but you don't know how they will react to strangers. What have other owners encountered? ???
I am so glad that you posed this question. I do not have any animals but I love them from a distance. I don't appreciate stepping in dog crap when i don't even have one, not to mention when it is in my grass that really drives me crazy. I am not scared of dogs but I don't appreciate them running loose either. Owners can say that there dogs are nice and sweet but they don't know how they may act around others. I respect anyone who respects animals & obeys animal laws, keeping them on a leash, keeping them immune and keeping them clean etc!

the same people who let their dogs run loose also let their kids run loose too, it is unsafe and quite frankly annoying

I'm against it but it also happens. My dogs actually got loose and killed a cat down the road. I think that accidents happen, but also it can be prevented if owners pay attention, train properly and have respect for other peoples feelings. Most people have problems that can be solved by approaching the person and discussing the issue at hand...

Dogs can honestly be annoying. They chew a lot of objects, sometimes use your floor as a bathroom, you have to take them for walks and they beg like a "dog"!

I PERSONALLY DO NOT LIKE SEEING DOMESTIC ANIMALS RUNNING LOOSE IN ANY NEIGHBORHOOD.I THINK ITS IRRESPONSIBLE,ITS JUST A WAY FOR THE OWNERS TO ACT IRRESPONSIBLE BY NOT PICKING UP AFTER THEIR PETS.

I like dogs. But I don't like them (or any other animal) running around loose.  They may be mistaken for strays and possibly pose hazards like biting people, pooping everywhere, don't know if they're well taken care of (fleas/ticks/diseases), etc.  Even if they're trained, something may spook them and may attack another person or animal.  Keep them on a leash when taking your dog for a walk!  And clean up after they poop!  :)

there is always this one lil dog always loose and sometime the dog runs in front of cars and barks at everyone. I hope this dogs owner takes better care of him. they pose a danger to small kids and themselves they may get by a car or something.

If a dog gets loose by accident, well it's an accident. But if people let them run free thats a different story. Shame on them and that goes for cat owners too. Anything can happen to those pets. They could be hit by a car, poisened, harmed by another animal or person, etc... People need to be proper animal owners. Besides that, where do they think these pets are doing there business but in other peoples yards? Just my opinion. :bs:

No no no no no. Shame only on the canine owners  :bunny: Cats don't carelessly crap on your lawn and public sidewalks where you can or cannot notice it. Cats bury their feces.

Be nice if there were public cameras that catch dog owners that are walking their dogs and allowing their dogs crapping on public sidewalks and on neighbors' lawns.

They are indeed a bit annoying... I believe that with fierce dogs (eg. pitbull) come great responsibilities.... and cute doggies are not exempted. We should watch over our pets.... let's be responsible, caring and considerate citizens.  :peace:

I would prefer that dogs do not run loose in the neighborhood. If I am not familiar with an animal, it makes me pretty nervous to have it running up to me. A responisble person would likely have an animal on a leash for the animals and others protection.
