Getting a new phone plan -- any suggestions? Motorola Atrix II?

I'm going to be getting a smart phone plan soon. (My first!)

I was looking at the Motorola Atrix II if I get an AT & T plan.

Suggestions?

I'm in the same boat, I'm want to switch from T-moble to something else. I'm getting charged $10 each month. 2009 $80+, 2010 $90+, 2011 $100+! I can't afford paying this for things I don't even use in it. My sis, is w/Verizon but she lectures me to not just switch b/c of the plan & cost. I should decide what kind of package I need. I just want to find a package that is simple & cheaper.  :-
