anyone stop to think about the families that have lost everything due to the economy but then get to watch treasured belongings auctioned off to the highest bidder. why do you think there are so many good things found in the storage units.. alot of families that have had do downsize have had to put thier belongings into storage only to fall behind and not be able to get anything out until they can pay so there goes family belongings. but hell lets prey on everyone in the name of ratings   .. families are losing everything due to the economy, these lockers are being abandoned because the people are not having a choice. not because they just dont want the items anymore or that they forgot about them. they fall behind on payments and once they fall behind, they can not take belongings out of the unit until the bill is brought current.. WE AS SOCIETY NEED TO STOP EXPLOITING OUR OWN CITIZENS....

Awwww, did you lose your Elvis Lamp collection because you couldn't afford the staggering 19.99 monthly fee to store your junk?

I know right. One episode brandy and jarod find two safes full of gold, silver and rare coins. How do you fall behind in payments when there are well over 5,000 dollars in items in a locker.

to answer your moronic question, no I dont use storage units. but why do you supose there are so many units that are going for auction. the units cost well over 19.99 a month anyways.   so guess when families lose everything who gives a *bleep* lets just keep promoting the television show that exploits it..

My boyfriend and I have watched it and I like it..you never know what they're going to find and that makes the shoq interesting to me. I'd like to find out about going to an auction, I'm sure you can find info online. Think it would be fun.

So if someone falls behind on their mortgage we just let them keep their house too?

I don't watch reality shows, don't like them.  These shows are comprised of all the most stupid people they can find because of the all mighty buck.  Unbelievable that people actually watch any of the shows.

Storage locker auctions have been going on well before these shows started to pop up... So I wouldn't blame it on the TV networks. If anything, I'd think it'd wake up anyone that uses storage lockers about the realities of their rental. Also, a person's right to their private property goes both ways; the storage unit owners had to pay for the land, the units themselves, employees, etc. We can't just say that the unit rentors are exploiting these people if they too need to make a living. If someone stops paying their rent for their apartment, how quickly do you think the apartment complex will evict them? I know times are tough, but that doesn't negate a person's personal responsibility.

well lets see we bail out banks and other governments , so why not give the people the oportunity to sell their own *bleep* in order to pay back the storage facility. not to just allow the person to walk away.

In the rental agreement there are specific outlines. If you don't wanna lose you junk, don't put it in a storage facility where you sign an agreement forfeiting said property if you can't pay the bill.

Over here at my house my family watches storage wars quite frequently. We really enjoy this show, even if we don't really believe, that is an unscripted reality show.
