 :binkybaby: my smartphone does not, my blackberry torch can hold a charge. You might need a new battery :dontknow:

I have the same experienced when I first got my iPhone 3GS. Then I started reading Mac forum and learned some tricks on battery life. Now on my third iPhone (5) and this one is pretty good on battery life but I still used the tricks I've learned (such us push notification settings). My suggestion is to do some research on your phone and start reading forums.
