Netflix?
« on: January 21, 2012, 06:08:56 pm »
I was just wondering who has netflix and does it work well on your computer. I am talking about using the video on demand movies not the mail to your house movies. I recently started to use it and I am having problems with it. What do you think the minimum speed is that you should have for watching netflix on demand??

I have Netflix; it always worked fine on the lowest tier internet we had from AT&T (3 mbps max, averaged 1 mbps).

i have netflix (i'm actually streaming Black Dahlia right now) and i noticed that you either have to have a super new/fast computer or super fast internet. i used to have an old dell laptop and dial-up and could not watch anything on netflix but once i got my new laptop (gateway NV78) the streaming worked fine. of course, then i upgraded to high-speed and now i can stream a movie on one half of my screen and play farmville on the other without any skips or lagging :)

I have Netflix and I stream it to my netbook and my smartphone. With my Netbook, it's generally seamless (unless my brother is sucking up the bandwidth with his games). On my phone, when I'm connected to wifi it streams seamlessly as well. I have no use for cable anymore because I either watch Netflix, or stream the shows I want to watch from the channel's site online.

We have basic cable internet and netflix is usually pretty good at streaming for us. Occassionally it buffers a little, but almost never have that issue.

I have netflix.  I've been a member for a couple of years now.  I was never able to watch video's on my pc. When the price went up I put my account on suspension.  I just reactivated it this last month. Just this past weekend I clicked the wrong button when I was going to stream a movie to our wii and the movie started to play on my pc.  Since I've reactivated I only do the streaming - no dvd rentals right now.  And the selection for my husband is very poor (He's seen everything) But for me and the kids it's great.  We're thinking about switching to Blockbuster.

I have had Netflix for years. We only do the streaming. Some buffering issues - usually on the weekends at night. We have DSL, but a slower connection. If you have an iPhone you can stream from your phone with their app. I rarely have issues with that.

I use netflix on our Apple TV and it works great.  We do have issues sometimes, one of the big ones being the voices do not always match with the actors lips moving which drives me crazy!!!  If you are having an issue I would contact them and let them know.  they have excellent customer service.

I stream Netflix on my pc. We have AT&T for the internet. I find if I use Google Chrome I don't have too many problems with picture quality and the streaming process.
