Gun Control?
« on: February 07, 2012, 10:03:14 am »
I do NOT believe in Gun Control.   I think this country is going down the wrong track, and it  certainly has gotten worse the last couple years!!  There are millions of people that use guns for hunting, shooting as a sport, etc... .Why should our guns be taken away because the government doesnt want to punish the people doing crimes with guns?  I saw a program on Tv the other day that was showing how criminals used to be punished, I bet if the government would start using eye for eye, tooth for tooth, life for life, they wouldn't need gun control!!

Guns don't kill people. people do. If the goverment would  punish  the one doning wrong instead of going after the public that own guns. It would be safer country. Look at what has happened to he countries where they have taken the guns away. It hasn't prevented crime, it has escalted. We have guns but they are locked up in a safe. I believe we have a right to protect ourselves, The government should stay out of it. More people are killed by vehicles then guns.

How about control who can get guns and take away the right from people who abused it to harm others?

The criminals have guns, and not legally. They are not registered either, go figure. I think honest people that have registered guns shows they are responsible. Plus those armed are less likely to get robbed, murdered, raped and their rights taken away.  How many in Congress have guns. I think they should start practicing what they preach. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. So says this one legal gun owner.

I do not believe in gun control.  It is our constitutional right to bear arms. The government has no right to infringe upon this or any other right, guarenteed us under the constitution of this great country.

I love the saying "If they outlaw guns...only the Outlaws will have guns"! I also believe that this country is going too far witth rules and regulations.  I think that being forced to wear helmets and seatbelts is ridiculous and an infringement on our freedom.  I think that Homeland security  is absurd in the liberties that it takes aaway from us and has gone too far.  Cameras at stoplights, censoring the internet, doing anything for the sake of security...it has gotten crazy.  A kid makes an inappropriate comment in school and they are expelled? All of this while we have celebrities getting away with murder?

The  2Nd  amendment gives us the right to bear and have guns for our safety and protection. I didn't see anything in the amendment about gun control. As stated earlier, there are to many controls being placed on Americans everyday. Right now there are so many rules about what you can't do that they should publish a book on what you can do. ;D.

I do not believe gun control is a feasible idea. The government can only control the sale and transfer of guns from businesses. There is no way to contol sale and transfer between individuals. And of course there is always the black market.

I was so gratified to see most people being against gun control.....always think of that saying "if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns"..... I see more and more of our freedoms being taken away.  And I am really against gun control it is one of our basic rights to bear arms.  The government is out of control in my opinion. I agree with the person who said that a book needs to be published saying what we can do because it would sure be shorter than the reverse. :peace:

The gun control laws in the country, especially here in New Jersey, are ridiculous. Two years ago, I worked at a pharmacy, and a man came in, pointed a gun at me, and asked for the money and drugs. Thank God he was too high to shoot his gun or I would have been dead. I felt violated after that, and I wanted to obtain a gun for my own protection. But then I read up on how to obtain a gun in New Jersey legally and it was crazy. You have to jump through all sorts of hoops. But that jerk who wandered into my workplace that day can carry one. Illegally maybe, but still. Call me insane, but at this point, everyone should be able to carry weapons on them at all times. We can't trust anyone anymore. I know it would cause chaos, because there are idiots out there who would just shoot people for simply disagreeing with them. But if there weren't people like that, I think criminals would think twice about pointing guns or shooting other people because then anyone could whip out a gun at them.
