I truly enjoy reading everyone's comments.  And I am so pleased to see how positive so many people can be.  It is sad whenever someone makes the decision which can take theirs or another's life.  I don't completely understand it, and will admitt that sometimes I think negative thoughts.  But I am overall sad that Whitney is gone.  Too young and so many issues :(

She had an amazing voice and certainly participated heavily in bringing gospel music and rock together as a new genre of music. I've heard so many young, black women artists talk in interviews about how influential she was in getting them started in music over the last few days. She also had a really tough life around her struggle with addiction. It is always sad to know that someone so young has lost their life. I only hope that she is now at peace and singing with the angels.

I liked her music! I was very sad to hear of her death. What a shame to go at such a young age and so full of talent. RIP Whitney.

I was very sad to hear about Whitney Houston death but I cannot say i was 100% shocked.  She had a very trobled life with drugs, alcohol, and people.  I wished she would have asked for help or realized that nothing on this earth is worth her precious life.  Sometimes people do feel hopeless when it seems to them there is no way out

I think it is sad. It's a shame that she wound up dong drugs and drinking. Once she got involved in drugs, it was over for her.

It is hard to be completely positive when thinking about Whitney Houston's death, as requested in the initial post.  I was not a great fan, but I do think she had a great voice during her heyday.  When you think about how much she gave to popular music and how she influenced so many people, just think how much more she could have given if she had preserved her voice and had continued to help up-and-coming singers.

She was one of my favorite singers and she will be miss a lot. One of the greatest voices in the music media. Good actress too, not many movies but she did well. I wish she is resting in peace without any regrets and singing in heaven with her precious voice.
