printing more money would cause more problems then it would fix

How so? Then everyone would have more money.

One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

If half the people in this thread are allowed to arbitrarily lower gas prices, I am allowed to print money with no adverse effects on its value.

Oh, arbitrary is it?  Okay, what adverse effects would ripple through the economy were gas prices to be lowered from gouging tens of billions down to just gouging a few billion?

Yacht sales and manufacturing would be grossly effected.

You mean that oil billionaires would have to lease 'em instead?  Ack!  How would manufacturing suffer from lower fuel prices?

Yea, but just poor people. They don't help the economy anyway.

That's right; everyone knows poor people forage in the woods with food stamps or, EBT cards.  It's really difficult to swipe one of those cards through a cottontail rabbit too.  I wouldn't recommend it and, the rabbit probably doesn't enjoy it either.

My pay check - really.  I seem to be having a difficult time finding a better paying job or in that matter a good job that I can better support myself and within an industry I am more suited to work.  A global change I would change about this economy, is that I would "fine" every single corporation that employed over-seas without employing here in the USA.  How did that happen anyway?  We are giving corporations tax advantages and government money to employ people from over-seas before employing people from USA first?  So, that is two things I'd want to change, first my personal changes and next, a global change to help others.

I'd get the government to live within their own means. The government is overspending too much on things that it should not be concerned with. It keeps pulling money out of the private sector without adding much benefit to the economy (and usually it just tends to hurt the economy more by trying to incorporate other issues into its spending and regulations). Too many people want some socialist utopia where they get all sorts of "goodies" from the government without wanting to pay for it or thinking of the ramifications that this would result in. As such you have what's going on in Europe where the countries are going broke and in order to survive financially they have to impose austerity measures to severely limit government spending.
