[/font]LoL, Falcon9 you always love to create chaos when it's dealing w/the church going sheeps.

It's not chaos that I'm trying to create though; it's more of a prompting them to question their own assumptions.  Any apparent chaos arises when they adamently refuse to do so.

I haven't been to church either since I reach my twenties. Catholic Dad & Mom decided I was old enough to make a choice on what religion or not, I wanted to pursue. If they hadn't force me & my siblings to go to church every sun at the ungodly hrs of 6am, I may have followed the faith. So, it's their own fault by forcing us to go to church none of the six kids are religious. I drew the line when I was told i had to go to church & I went then got punished b/c I was wearing a shorts & t shirt. I told my mom, I don't think god would care what I wore as long as I was there.

Forcing kids, (or anyone), to be part of a religion is coercive and infringes upon their free will.  More often than not, such parents who did so didn't want to hire a sitter and never even considered that they were inflicted superstitious beliefs upon impressionable children.  Although many of those who did realize that they were doing the inflicting also felt/feel that they have some 'right' to do so as the parents.  There is no such right, even under the concept of 'A'hm a-raisin' 'em like Ah wanna and ya'll cain't tell me no different no how'.

Slowly, I began questioning the stuff they talk about christ, religion, faith, prayer....they never could come up with a good answer.

That's very similar to what's going on within some forum threads these days.

I get back at my mom for the years of torture dragging us kids to church on sunday. I mean, even god took a break on sunday. Why can't we?lol just to annoy them when some1 at the hospital get saved b4 mom could say, thank -g.... I break in & say thank the dr,nurses, hospital staff & all involved in saving this patient's life. For once give the humans that credit for, going to school learning a craft or skill to save the dying patient. I don't think it's right to give credit to a deity that may or may not be real.

I wouldn't consider that as "getting back" at her since the medical staff does all the attributable work, (supported by the evidence of employed medical procedures), they should get all the credit.  Of course, medical science cannot cure or save everyone so, they should take the 'blame' for that as well.

God, help's those who, help themselves, well if that's the case why in hell would i need god? It reminds me of the do nothing republicans today. Do nothing but take the credit for it when it turns out to be successful.

In much the same way, the republicans are blaming the democratic president for 8 years of republican rampages when they were in charge of running things into the dirt for 3/4 of the last 12 years.  Notice the parallels between shifting blame, ("the democratics did it" & "the devil did it")?

If I have to chose between a deity or medical science to save, my life...hands down, I'm picking the doctor!LOL! Keep it up Falcon9 I love the way you just stir such strong emotions b/c you question their faith.  :peace:

Thanks, T.  It isn't just a matter of my questioning their 'faith'; it's also a matter of whether or not they have the courage to question their own.  How strong is such a 'faith' that cannot be questioned?

:angel11: I ask our good Lord to Guide you and your family in everything you do and everything you are facing at the moment. May God always be with you and help you in every aspect of life. Blessings.

In order to provide additional coverage and avoid a biased slant of one 'religion' over others, I've requested that certain associates 'help out' too.
A partial excerpt of their efforts includes the following:

"Five black candles lit, incense burning ... hooded figures sit, invocations turning ... the principle of darkness called upon to aid and comfort {insert name here} in their time of need ... sage burnt to complete the deed ... "

Traditionally, I hear there's some sort of payment for this, similar to the one the xtian religion requires.

falcon isnt this belittling others faith?

No, since any other 'religion' has just as much validity as the xtian one, (according to the US constitution).

your a hypocrite i swear.

I've made no hypocritical statements in this regard.  If you have evidence to the contrary, produce it in context.  If not, you make false accusations and that would be a hypocrisy under xtian beliefs.

just because they wanna help other fellow christians doesnt make you right to say there is no GOD.

There's a difference between claiming there is, (or isn't), such a 'being' and questioning the claims that there is made by others.  Further, there is an equal opportunity for dissenting views, (especially on the "Debate+Discussion" subforum).

stop with all the hate man. give it up ...

Questioning is not "hate".  I'd request that you cease the false characterizations and fallacious tactics if you can however, I'm not trying to curb or censor your freedom to spout nonsense.

i think the admins and staff should keep on eye on you for this..

They are already aware of my participation on the forums and have indicated that D+D is "A place to have political, religious, and other divisive discussions. Enter at your own risk!"  (D+D being a subforum of the "Off Topic" forum).  Also, the faint of heart and those lacking the courage of their convictions can always use the "ignore" function to avert their eyes from any uncomfortable dissent.

its getting to a point where your comments has been effecting others in a negative light.

It's 'affecting', not "effecting"; the two words have different meanings, (otherwise a typo is a typo).  Regardless, have you ever considered that such 'religious bombardments' coming from the 'believers' might be affecting others negatively or, is this entirely a one-sided gripe?

How hypocritical, "sammy" is trolling me instead of taking their own advice and 'ignoring' my posts.

how hypocrital of you bashing others belief?

Your misuse of the word "hypocritical" is accepted as evidence of your ignorance.

and saying something that no one in this thread understands?

Any comprehension deficiencies extant are entirely the responsibility of those unable to comprehend English.

your the hypocrite kiddo...

My what?  Your additional example of misusing the word "hypocrite" is accepted as compelling evidence of ignorance, (not to mention "your" for "you're" - as in "you are").

some pple here in this thread are getting frustrated with your antics.

No doubt at least some of your 'frustration' stems from certain lacks of your own, rather than any "antics" of others.

This is really, really sad that this started for a prayer for someone that lost a loved one and it turned into a debate of reliigion, arguing and disrepect.  This thread is not a debate about religion or any other debate.  It is about helping someone that is in pain.  Debates and arguing should be taking out of this thread and moved into debate section.  But that is just my opinion for all it is worth.  Everyone needs to grow up and respect each other.

This thread requested 'prayer', which falls nominally under "religion".  Whether or not such 'prayer' is effective "help" is debatable, whether you think it's "disrespectful" or not.

Debates and arguing should be taking out of this thread and moved into debate section.

So, your opinion is that debatable topics should be moved from "off topics" to the D+D subforum of Off Topic?  If so, perhaps it should have been posted there initially.  If not, the implied censorship is selectively 'disrespectful'.

Sadly,it happens all the time around here. There are several Atheists here that will take every opportunity to bash people of Faith, instead of keeping those discussions in D&D where they belong. :angry7:
