What is the most unusual way of life you've made a habit of?

This question came to me when I was answering another FC question.  My husband and 3 kids from a prior marriage are living in a cramped 2 bedroom apartment.  My son's bedroom is also the living room.  My daughters bedroom is directly in the middle so for anyone to go to the bathroom we have to walk through her room to get to it.  My "office" is now in my daughters room as well.  Before moving in here my kids and I were living with my best friend her kids and Dad.  It was so much fun...it reminded me of a slumber party that never stopped.  Before that the my kids and I lived in my Mom' basement.  I actually considered living in a campground before with my children.  In that quest I had slept in the bed of a truck a few nights in search for the perfect location.  What was I thinking?  I'd love to hear some stories about how others have had to get by during this last (I still call it current) recession.

wow, how can you afford the internet ?  if nothing else your family will be close and dependent on each other. i miss the days when this house had some kind of noise in it. now you can hear every drop of dust fall lol
