I thought the day would never ever come!  But I did it, made it to hero member here!  over 500 posts!  I've been away almost a week since I was sick - and I came back today, made a few posts to catch up, and suddenly I noticed I'm a hero!  I had totally forgotten I was that close!  This rocks.

Congrats, timetravel! I'm half-way to becoming a Gold Member myself after a year on FC. I admit it. I'm a FC posting junkie. I just can't help myself...and I'm now one post closer to the next level with this post! I just love leveling up, don't you? I became addicted to it playing role-play games on the PS3 and the X-Box 360. My next project is to figure out how to level up in my marriage.

I won't touch the marriage thing...lol...but congrats to you, too!  It is amazing how it just kind of slips up on you.  Some days, I don't have much to say here - but others - I could just keep going - like that energizer bunny!  That's why I hated being sick and away for nearly a week - not that it mattered while ill - but coming back - it's like - whooo - I missed soooo much.

Side note: I'm working on leveling up in my marriage by doing something special for our 10-yr anniversary this May. That could help (duh!). What do you think? Now I just have to figure out what!

As far as ways to step up your posting, I always check al the latest topics on the Discussion Board and reply to topics that have zero to few replies. At least you have a better chance of having something new and worthwhile to say because the topic hasn't been talked to death. I just try to have fun here and make new virtual friends like you.

I also challenge myself to come up with a new topic to start from time to time. It's fun to see how many replies you get, for one thing. If I get more than 15 replies, that original post I made will be one of my three for the $3/mo forum posting bonus.

Your status is strictly determined by the number of posts you have made in the forum. There are no monetary rewards from FC. Here's the breakdown:

What do you think of my suggestion that FC create a Platinum level for 5000+ posts, for oldtimers and up-and-coming veterans like you and me?

Sorry, I removed my post to revise it just now. Didn't know you were online.

I know it's no big deal. Levels in the forum have no monetary value of course. Those of us who attained that level would be a little like high-rollers in the forum, that's all. Those who post umteen times a day and have no life would reach Platinum faster than the frest of us slow-pokes though. I'm still in favor of it just because I like the idea of leveling up. I've always been partial to role-play video games. Plus it would be pretty cool to see 'Platinum' by our names along with the extra star.

OB looks like he's the front-runner with only 589 posts to hit 4000 ... nearest others are around 1200-1600ish away, (and approx. 600 behind OB however, depending upon how often the small number of gold members post, it could be a photo-finish).  Should we have a contest?

You're probably right about 'oldbuddy' but referrals are his forte, not posting, so you never know. The race to be the first Platinum member is on! I'm one step closer to 'Gold' myself with this post.
