Exercise & Pregnancy
« on: March 30, 2012, 08:15:55 am »
The last time I was doing 2 hours of exercise a day, I would get light periods. Ended up pregnant, but had a miscarriage. Does exercising like that minimize my chances of getting pregnant? Is it a possibility that because of the exercise I might have a miscarriage again?  :-

there really is no way to tell what will happen in ur first trimester of pregnancy. u could do no exercise at all except walk and still have a miscarriage. trust me, i was in the first trimester with my fiance's first child and i lost it and i dont know why. i ate better, did no heavy lifting, virtually no caffeine, no strain exercise and still had a miscarriage. we might be pregnant again but we just dont know yet. dont give up hope. one of these days u will have a full term healthy baby.

I didn't see how far into your pregnancy the miscarriage occurred.  Most doctors recommend exercise during pregnancy to keep you healthy, just like when you are not pregnant.  You don't want to strain your self, but that's true without pregnancy as well.  You may be limited in the final trimester due to limited movement and muscle pains.  Your body at that point is having to carry a heavy burden which in turn can cause back pain, as well as the internal changes to compensate for the fetus.
Unless you have some unforeseen complication, the first six months are usually good for aerobic or conditioning exercise.  Might want to lay off the heavy weights though.

It's really hard to say. I was carrying a little bit of weight and ended up having miscarriage (though not sure if that was the cause), so I guess sometimes it just not meant to be.
