Easter to the true believers are special.  I would like to attend service on Easter Sunday but I am not sure what I will be doing.

The devil is always on the attack and those people do even realize they are being used when they make those ugly comments.  Pray you and your family have a blessful Easter and reach the unlost.

You run around saying your god gives us free will, then claim the devil can take over people's bodies w i l l y-nilly.  Get your story fairy tale straight!

P.S. Reach the "unlost"?  Is that a Freudian slip?  Because I agree between you and I, I am the one who is "unlost".

P.P.S. The new *bleep* feature is a pain in the...[insert bleep].

You run around saying your god gives us free will, then claim the devil can take over people's bodies w i l l y-nilly.  Get your story fairy tale straight!

There are at least three ways to account for this.  One; that their 'god' is nominally invited to "take over people's bodies", (and "souls"), so they transpose that same insidious bypassing of free will onto "the devil" as well.  Two; we do have free will and neither an imaginary "god" nor imaginary "devil" are using us against that will.  Three; xtians are several fries short of a happy meal.

P.S. Reach the "unlost"?  Is that a Freudian slip?  Because I agree between you and I, I am the one who is "unlost".

It's more a of hypocrital slip in that the ones who've lost the ability to discern the difference between self-delusions and the life they're experiencing now often try to imply that those who can discern it are 'lost', (while the "unlost" could be those they consider recruitable).

P.P.S. The new *bleep* feature is a pain in the...[insert bleep].

Ohhhh, that new *bleep* feature ... have you tried using 'pain in the hindquarters', 'pain in the rear' or, 'pain in the buns'? (textually, not literally)

No.  How is this a "debate" question?

I'll second that "No".  Agree also that this really is NOT a "debate" question/subject and isn't even a "deBUNNY" question.

Lacking sleep for long periods tends to make me goofier than normal.... ;D

I'll will agree with the infidel here this is a yes and no question and therefore not really up for a debate or discussion.
Personally I will be attending my place of worship but it won't be about Easter my religion follows the Jewish calender for celebrating the lords evening meal and not some spring equinox date which predates Christ. According to the Jewish calender Nisan 14 was last Thursday and that's when Christ instituted the Lords evening meal.

Anyway to recap will I attend yes will it be about Easter no.

P.S. There's no scriptural proof that the God and father of Jesus, the holy spirit or even Jesus himself wanted people to celebrate the father resurrecting Jesus as it says all over the new Covenant(testament) that God resurrected Jesus.

Apparently, he's referring to the lack of biblical sources encouraging the celebration of a 'supernatural walker', (implying that, at the time the various text were cobbled together, none of the writers had thought to include that whopper in a chapter & verse). {athough it's not clear as to which "infidel" he was referring to in the rest of the reply} *pick me, pick me*

I was questioning teflonfanatic because there is NO scriptural proof that 'God the Father', 'God the Son' or ' the Holy Spirit'  DIDN'T want people to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.

Whether or not a Believer chooses to celebrate/observe/commemorate the Resurrection of Jesus is their decision, however, the Bible states in Luke 15 that the angels rejoice over the salvation of one that is lost.
Salvation would NOT have been possible--- without the resurrection of Jesus.

Heaven is all about celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.
Heaven wouldn't be possible for believers--- without the resurrection of Jesus.

The Bible would be just a book--- without the resurrection of Jesus.

There's no "commandment" or direct order from God in the Bible stating that a believer has to observe Easter/the Resurrection.  IMO, the Bible has many verses about praising, worshipping, glorifying God, rejoicing in Him and being thankful.  I think those verses would suggest that God would be very pleased when His children commemorate/celebrate Him, no matter what the season.

It remains that the "resurrection" is a belief-based claim which lacks substantiating evidence to support it.  'Faith' does not constitute evidence to support such claims therefore, there is no "salvation" or "heaven" and "the bible is just a book/s".

@Falcon: I was referring to arvil and jordandog they were commenting that the topic OP was too vague to debate or discuss

numbers correspond to your points

1. Jesus being resurrected  saved  Jesus and our faith(assurance of the things hoped for), 1 Peter 2:24 points out that Jesus died for our sins so we might stop sinning and live in righteous which is what salvation is, we where born to do the opposite because of Adam which is not salvation.
as for salvation not being possible the father could have just intervened himself but he wanted the son(Jesus) to act on his behalf for his own glory Jesus christ was exalted for the father's own glory(God of Jesus) Philippians 2:10-11

2.  Actually heaven is all about praising the sacrifice Jesus made for us not his resurrection, he is called the lamb all throughtout revelation after all, Jesus is always praised as the lamb in revelation. As for not being possible see the last sentence of point 1

6 And I saw standing in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures and in the midst of the elders a lamb as though it had been slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, which [eyes] mean the seven spirits of God that have been sent forth into the whole earth. 7 And he went and at once took [it] out of the right hand of the One seated on the throne. 8 And when he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, having each one a harp and golden bowls that were full of incense, and the [incense] means the prayers of the holy ones. 9 And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth. (Revelation 5:6-1)

3. Now here we agree however the bible wouldn't be a book with the father, holy spirit and 40 men is there scriptural evidence that we should celebrate the bible because of those 3.  Actually as important as the bible is there is no scriptural evidence for celebrating the bible in a formal way,  this is actually the reason Jesus  rejected the Jews in his day.

In conclusion Jesus resurrection is important enough to appreciate, and preach out both are shown to be true in the bible but not celebrating in a formal way however Jesus did institute something to be celebrated though see scriptures below

14 At length when the hour came, he reclined at the table, and the apostles with him. 15 And he said to them: “I have greatly desired to eat this passover with YOU before I suffer; 16 for I tell YOU, I will not eat it again until it becomes fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” 17 And, accepting a cup, he gave thanks and said: “Take this and pass it from one to the other among yourselves; 18 for I tell YOU, From now on I will not drink again from the product of the vine until the kingdom of God arrives.”
19 Also, he took a loaf, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying: “This means my body which is to be given in YOUR behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” 20 Also, the cup in the same way after they had the evening meal, he saying: “This cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood, which is to be poured out in YOUR behalf. (Luke 22:14-20)

As much as we want to reason that x and x is ok to be worshipped or celebrated if it corresponds to something extrabibical or is not stated to be so in the bible there's always Pauls warning, I won't Judge you though as i'm not Jesus nor nor am I a co-ruler with him.

6 Now, brothers, these things I have transferred so as to apply to myself and A·pol′los for YOUR good, that in our case YOU may learn the [rule]: “Do not go beyond the things that are written,” in order that YOU may not be puffed up individually in favor of the one against the other. ( 1 Corinthians 4:6)

Ah, I took their comments to mean that a simple "yes" or "no" would nominally suffice if the topic appeared to not be amiable to discussion or debate.

I always attend Easter service the day that my Lord and Savior rose from the dead, showing me that when I die, if I have asked Him into my life, that I also will rise again to be with Him.

Oddly enough, there is zero evidence to support the veracity of such superstitious beliefs.
