I cannot believe that the company was so greedy and inconsiderate that they ignore the results that showed the peanut butter was not safe for consumers. They should be held reponsible for the deaths of those poor individuals that died as a result of the salmonella peanut products.

I agree! It is their responsibility to test their products, and then make sure only the safe stuff is sold to consumers!!

I saw peanut butter and had to open this, because today I tried the Smackers Natural Peanut Butter....and all I can say is that is so so so very yummy!!!! Everyone should eat that stuff....It's $2.95 a jar at my local Hy-Vee...

About the salmonella peanut butter, I think that this was only the peanut butter and cheese crackers peanut butter, but I am not completely sure....Once I heard about it, I banned all pb until today...I couldn't go any longer without...my kids love the stuff...but it will be a long time before I buy the cheese and PB crackers...

Base on what I have heard, most of the peanut butter in the jars such as 'Jiff' came from another company. However a lot of peanut trailmix, peanut crackers and peanut candy bars used the peanut that were tested positive with salmonella. I am using out the peanut butter that is in my house (fridge, pantry etc), but don't intend to buy any in a hurry from the store until I get more updates that all peanut products are safe.
My sister told me her husband threw out 2 large unopened jars that she purchases from Samclub, when he left the house she retrieved them and is secretly using it to make snadwiches for her daughter and herself. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are a real threat.  ;)

I heard someone here in Medina County Ohio where I live died from the salmonella peanut butter.  I was notified from Sam's club about my Austin crackers being recalled.  I bought 2 boxes 2 months prior to receiving the letter and only had 1/2 a box left!
