Yes, we had the spring break quake, as they called it in March of 1995 I think.  I'm not sure it was that year but close around there.  Compared to California quakes it did minor damage in the Willamette Valley of Oregon.  It's a pretty strange feeling to have everything is the house shaking and moving a little.

Of course. Being a CA native I have experienced from little to big earthquakes as you know CA lies along the San Andreas fault. When I was young I have found the earth shaking to be quite fun which lasted about a few seconds.

I have been in a few, but they were all so minor that I barely noticed them.

My son who is 24 is looking into moving to cali.... I don't want to deter him but, I am nervous.

Cali is beautiful, but the earthquakes is what bothers me.  :crybaby2: :crybaby2:

But he is 24 and he needs to make his way... All I can do is wish him the best of luck.

We live in the north and the cold can play a real big part in wanting to go into the sunshine.

Good Luck son, you will be in my prayers.

I felt a rumble this morning but local news says it's still a mystery.

One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I have experienced tremors. It is very scary. I had nightmares for a week and slept with jogging clothes on and my shoes by my bed. I live in FL now so I deal with the hurricanes. They can be scary too. There is no place to hide from mother nature.

Yes, I live near the San Andreas fault  I remember the last big one in '08... It rattled and swayed the house in a circular motion, something I'd never felt before. Usually they're just side to side jerks. It shook the house so hard the water in my fish tank was splashing out onto the floor. It's weird feeling the smaller quakes; I usually don't notice them until someone points it out to me. I haven't felt them in a while.

According to the web site "smart planet," California has fewer natural disasters than the vast majority of states.  There are a few earthquakes, most of them small which is good because they relieve the stresses at the fault lines. I lived in Cali over 30 years--northern, southern and central California--and it was less scary than my trip to Florida, during which we endured Hurricane Erin!

I have been in a couple very small earthquakes.  I only felt one, which occurred in California.  The others were in the Midwest and I never felt them, although one was sorta noisy and I woke up to what I thought was truck barreling down my street.
