I've done the phone offers, and just send STOP right away, and it does.
And I still get credit for it. :)

I don't know why FC would sponsor scam companies.

There's no scam.  It's stated very clearly in the offer provider's terms if you read them.  If you sign up for it without reading the terms, that's not a scam, it's your stupidity.

I agree that these charges are not good, but I also agree that we should all realize that every offer/trial has it's own "fine print".  My problem is with the Mobile M8 offer. It says the same, about the $9.99 per month charge if you're with certain carriers or $0.99 per message received if with other carriers. My carrier is the 99cent/msg one and once I realized that, I tried to cancel. Guess what...YOU CANT!!!  I read their terms/agreement over and over and it says you can "Cancel at ANY TIME" simply by texting STOP to 33222, and if you need further assistance you can email them at info@zero9.com (or something like that).  I have done both of these MULTIPLE times!!! And yes, I made sure my phone didn't have a signature that was being attached to each message. I sent MANY emails too!! NOTHING!! I still received TONS of incoming messages....at a buck a message!!! GRRRR!!!  :angry7: I finally had to go into my mobile account and put a block on any premium text services!!! They still send messages to me, but it says "This number has block on all premium messages and can only be changed by the primary account holder".  I am curious...no scared...to see what my phone bill will end up being this month. Talk about ANGRY!!! Oh yeah, and I searched the mobile m8 company and found it's a branch of a company called Zero9, so I searched them and got their company phone number and all of their CEO's emails. The phone number is ITALY and when I called it I got NOTHING!! It wouldn't even ring!! And when I sent emails to the CEO's demanding my account be cancelled, they all came right back to me as Mailor Daemon Errors. GRRRR!!!!! DO NOT DO THIS MOBILE M8 OFFER!!!
This is why I never, ever give out my cell number.

Their terms clearly provide a way to cancel or contact them to avoid fees but when those venues don't work, it's their mistake or they did it intentionally (which would be considered a fraud/scam.)

If you sign up for it without reading the terms, that's not a scam, it's your stupidity.
I never sign up for anything without reading the terms.

Those venues do work, so the talk of scams and fraud isn't really all that relevant.

These people aren't goofballs.  They're known companies in their specific markets and they know the legal repercussions of not having [insert detail] in their terms.  Anything and everything you will be charged is in their terms in some way.  Any and every way to cancel is in their terms in some way.

According to amy11077's experience, they don't work.

so the talk of scams and fraud isn't really all that relevant.
If they hold unsound business practices, then there should be a cause for concern on the possibility of them being a scam or fraud, whether that is true or false.

These people aren't goofballs.
If they knew it didn't work and chose not to immediately 'fix' it when they could, then they are misleading the consumer.

If they were well aware of this fact and chose to ignore it, then they are technically a fraud or scam, even though they don't really have to be, no matter how sincere they are.

They're known companies in their specific markets and they know the legal repercussions of not having [insert detail] in their terms. Anything and everything you will be charged is in their terms in some way.  Any and every way to cancel is in their terms in some way.
I wasn't interested at all in the omission of data but the act of omission.

After trying to finish a few of the offers, I've noticed that a lot of offers ask for cell #s, and then if you read the fine print they say that their going to charge like $10 to phone bill. :o  I think that this should be put up for us to read before we try the offer, So that people dont go a try and do the offer if their not going to want to be billed. it takes up time and some people dont read fine print so its no telling how much its going to cost them.

Does anyone agree with me?
yes, but then again we should expect that from some online offers, and definitely we should look out for for those kinds of things and MAKE SURE TO READ THE FINE PRINT!!!

I never give out my cell number unless I know the company I'm giving it to.
I agree with whoever said that FC shouldn't be using these scam companies as sponsors!  I'd rather not have the 25 cents available to me in the first place!!

Yeah, you're not the only one that brought this up in the forums. Although this is how we all get paid, we do have to look out for those kinds of things, READ THE FINE PRINT.

You have to read the TCs on *ALL* offers!!!  Sponsors aren't just looking for a way to scam you...they're looking for customers.  Besides, as the admins have repeatedly cautioned its members, dont just sign up for offers to get the FC$, sign up for things you're actually interested in.  Of course there will be some sponsers that turn out to be less desired than others & there will be offers that are appealing at first sight, but aren't really down the road.  Just use the account info on your FC info to see what you've signed up for & monitor your usage.  And always...always...read the fine print folks. :)

I have seen these offers also but I don't think FC could completely police this as these offers are somtimes embedded within offers which are embedded whithin other offers. I do understand your frustration though. I woder what happens if someone "accidentally" puts someone elses number in one of these. Most of the ones I have seen only ask for the # and no other personal info.

Oh my God, what would you do if someone put in yor number by accident not knowing it. Maybe someone in another state.

I have been swept up by these hidden charges and I am absolutely livid. I cannot believe such things are endorsed here at Fusioncash, much less legal in this country.

If I can somehow manage to cancel, will my phone bill still be charged?

The only reason I'm really shocked is that this is in the "free/ no cc needed" section. C'mon, just because you don't need a credit card doesn't mean it's free! :BangHead: I mean really, doesn't ANYONE else think that that's just pushing the categorization criteria way too far? Didn't FC read the fine print?

Fusioncash, either move this ad to a different section of the site, or at least put up SOME kind of warning! I'm just lucky I read the fine print. This is all just total  :bs:

And THAT is my suggestion.
