comfort food
« on: April 16, 2012, 07:01:12 pm »
i think when it comes to satisfying our palate to get rid of depression or loneliness,
most of us would say pizza, or ice cream.... As for me I would say korean bbq and a bottle of merlot would be my perfect buddies  ::)

Ice cream's nice.  Merlot is very nice.  Dark chocolate Reese's cups will definitely ease the pain.  A handfull of dark chocolate M & M's along with the merlot is perfectly okey-dokey by me.

For me, brownies with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, maybe some shredded coconut, and maybe some banana chips sprinkled on top before it bakes. YUM! I put my recipe on Street Articles under the name of Chunky Monkey Brownies, if you need a recipe :)

You can find me on Youtube!

I think my comfort food is mac n cheese.  Nothing is better to help ease the blues than a bowl of very creamy mac n cheese.  YUM

My Mom always made what she called Buttered Macaroni when I was a kid: cooked elbow macaroni, milk, butter, salt and pepper. It was like eating homemade mac and cheese before putting in the cheese. Salty and delicious!

Everything I like seems not to be good for me.  I have a thing for fried food.  Fried shrimp, fried okra and squash, fried chicken or pork chops.
But I try to stay away from this because its so unhealthy.  So every once in a while when I'm by myself or just feeling in a funk...I just go ahead
and fry up those onion rings and just enjoy!

As weird as it sounds, I have to say my comfort food is Fettucine Alfredo Tuna Helper.  I have eaten Tuna Helper throughout my years, making it almost every day I stayed home from school for lunch.  It just brings back the memories of when I was young so that's why I think it's comforting for me!

Being from the deep south, I'd say some buttermilk fried chicken, rice, gravy, fried squash/okra, and homemade biscuits. Plays h-e-double hockey sticks with the cholesterol, but man is it good....
