I DO BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF GOD...i

Curiously enough, such a belief is insufficient to power a car, appliances, or have any attributable effect.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

But if it were not for the Power of God there would be no atoms to make the cars or appliances or fuel to power them. :)

Amen to that! Thank God for everything. I am happy for all he has given me and all he has given my family and friends. I THANK GOD FOR ALL THE ATOMS HE CREATED  ;D

I gotta side with you Waterbean. Those who have had a difficult life, and see all the evils in life have much ore difficult time believing in the power of God. If there was a God, I have to believe he would use his divine power to stop the most evil of things such as any kind of crime against children of any nature. So if he does exist, he allows those things to happen, which means I certainly don't want anything to do with someone that would permit such heinous acts.

Everyone has a right to believe what they want, and I certainly won't attack anyone for thinking that way, this is just my opinion. But with a post like "IN GOD WE TRUST", you have opened the metaphorical flood gates.

It seems the thought that someone believes in a higher power above themselves is somehow a misplaced thought. Being a christian and believing in God is a act of faith. God does not cause bad things to happen, but He promises to be with us when they do. Things that have happened to me in my life have strengthened my faith not destoryed it. God gives us freedom to choose. Believe in Him or don't. But to label all christians as something bad and to be avoided is no different than being a racist. You are choosing to dislike something you don't like or believe in and this is your rightful personal choice. But why do you feel its okay to lay judgement and blame on all christians because of the bad actions of a few or because of bad things that have happened in your life. I personally think racist remarks are rude and only serve to bring down folks whether they be black or white, or any other race. A man is judged by his actions and his words, not by the color of his skin. My hope would be that this forum might work toward the encouragement of its members whom are trying to earn a bit of cash and have fun sharing ideas, instead of tearing down the lines of communication with nasty rude remarks.

I believe in God also. Jesus Christ is my Lord & Savior  :angel11:

Hebrews 11:1 states "faith is believing in something you can't see"

For those who don't believe God is "power", it's your right. Please dont ruin the happiness for those who have faith in God.

Many people have faith in many different things. You may or may not have faith in something or someone.

There are so many ways one can post an opinion without being so negative.
Lets keep the  :peace:

Hebrews 11:1 states "faith is believing in something you can't see"

Which is precisely what makes it "blind faith".

For those who don't believe God is "power", it's your right. Please dont ruin the happiness for those who have faith in God.

You mean don't ruin the self-delusional comfort that is attributed to such a superstition?  That would be possible if it worked both ways however, so many religious adherents what to be able to publically express their superstitious beliefs while trying various ways of censoring any dissenting/opposing point of view.  The concept is fairly simple; if religious adherents can express their superstitious beliefs, so too can those who choose to do so express an alternate point of view.

Possibly so however, when it comes to the topic of religion, _any_ opposing point of view to 'believers' is often perceived as "negative", no matter how such a viewpoint is expressed.  Conversely, why do so many religious adherents express their defensive opinions in such "negative" ways when their initially baseless opinions are challenged?

first of all your wrong... because if i believed in your christian religion then i would be against all other religions... if you were a christian you would think muslims and buddhists and hindus all worship false religions... so therefore youd be taking away their happiness... i'm attacking the religion because it only makes a select few happy!!! so saying i love god who is attacking other ppl like me... then yeah i got a problem with it...
its like white supremists saying hitlers good... maybe god isnt on the same level as him but god is evil and ppl worship him as good... maybe hes good to his ppl but hes a monster to anyother
and you say keep the peace!!! funny u say that cus god say jesus didnt come into the world to bring peace but to bring division
so hes trying to ruin my peace
Thats just dumb to say, because you have no idea what people believe is false unless they tell you.  I'm not religious in any shape or form, but if you ask my opinion about the topic, I will give you my opinion, and you might not like it. Don't assume that just because someone isnt religious that they automatically think that other practices are false. It's just an excuse for you to get into a fight over BS.

Sure, keep on promoting religious superstitions; maybe we'll get another theocratic dark age out of it.

Amen!  At least I can proudly say, "In God I Trust!"  He has faithfully supplied all of my needs and a lot of my wants!  The greatest need I ever had was satisfied through Jesus Christ.
Have a wonderful day!

waterbearer94, I am trying to understand your thinking on this subject. I am not sure if you want to be a better person and don't know where to begin or if you have no belief at all. I am not a slave, but a servant. I follow and obey the commandments laid down in the Bible the best I can. I do not claim to be perfect. I make mistakes like anyone else, but I also pray and ask for forgiveness for any sin I have commented. Instead of feeling it a burden I find it uplifting and joyful. My faith and belief in God helps me to be a better person for doing what is right and good, drather then living my life just to please my own wants and desires. Following the devil is easier. Just do whatever you please without regard for others. One big happy merry-go-round without thought of tomarrow or what lies ahead. Simple. Or is it? You can choose. God does not force you to follow Him. You chose the life you want to live. He offers a better way, but it is your decision in the end. Reading the Bible opens the door to understanding. Spending time with others helps answer questions. It is heart-felt and no one else can do it for you, nor can they make you believe. God knows whats in your heart. He does not turn away because you are ill in body or mind. When you trust enough to believe your life is filled with less fear and more courage in facing the future.
