Right now I'm renting a small home while I save up for one that I can have built to my wants and needs, also a place with some nice land.

I'm only 24 & don't have a great job/income yet, so I just rent a small house outside of town. It's great... 2BR, carport, storage, fenced yard, super cheap! And I love living alone!

I'm in a dorm, trying to save up money as well.  Even though I know college will just eat it...

I hate how the more you work and save, the more the gov thinks you can pay for college.  I worked really hard to get a scholarship last semester and then b/c of the scholarship I just got less financial aid.  How screwy is that?

Hello, well I was in the same position and was renting a lot. But then I got tired of it and started telling myself that it is time to own my home. All that money that I put into renting could of went to a home and possibly paid off by then you know. So I'm happy now.

My husband and I bought our house in October 2007....had we waited a little longer we probably could have gotten it cheaper...seeing how the economy is today...
We used to rent a brand new mobile home but every time we had a tornado watch I would freak out...that was one of the reasons we finally made the decision to buy a house....plus we had another baby...and the trailer just wasn't big enough!!
