Yes, I think that after you hit age 68 then a mandatory drivers test should be required each year. I am not saying though, that they are the only causes of accidents!!! Don't get offended anyone over age 68!!!! AND, if you are a good driver over age 68, you shouldn't have ANYTHING to worry about....

Definitely! I don't know that yearly should be required-but at least at every license renewal.

Id say at 65 you have to take your test again, or at least they need a doctors/eye doctors clearance to drive.

The AARP does a yearly drivers test for seniors. This is a three day course to remind older drivers about street signs and rules of the road. Anyone can take the course and get a discount on their auto insurance for taking it. However, this course does not go far enough. A real driving test should be apart of the course. It is easy to lie about your weaknesses in driving skills, to others and to yourself. It is better if someone would take a ride with each person to see how well they handle car and the rules of the road. And a eye exam is very important too.

I'm thinking after a certain age...65ish, when a person has to renew their license, they should do a behind the wheel test too.  Definitely.

Oh my yes. I only say this from the experience of riding with my mother who believes in stopping on a dime and there is only her speed limit, which is usually 10 miles over the posted, and other bad habits. Now mind you she is only 69. Everyone in my family has learned to do the driving when she is around. :bs:

I believe that seniors really should take driving tests every year because who knows if their driving got worse. I sometimes see elderly drivers on the road going dangerously slow, swerving, or taking wrong turns. I don't blame them though. I bet I wouldn't be so good if I was old. I just think they should take tests for safety reasons. If they can't then they should have other people driving them to places. Or maybe senior discounts for taxis would be nice.

Yes - Yes - Yes
I've watched my grandfather and now my Mother continue to drive
when they should not be allowed to.
It is a risk to not only them but to the safety of others.

Yes, I do feel that after a certain age that driver should regularly be given a driver exam...have you ever been behind an elderly driver. I mean come on now sometimes you can tell when they are having a had time. And I swear by no means am I discriminating against the elderly because my grandmother still drives. But I will say this my grandmother gets out before the morning commute and leaves before the afternoon rush, because she know how she drives....lol

If they're collecting social security benefits, all seniors should be required to pass a yearly driving test, (written one included and me included when I retire).
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.
