If I had a lot of money I would be debt free and travel.

If I had alot of money I would concider helping soup kitchens or missions, some thing on that level---maybe even open my own.

That's the only way I would consider it, open my own. But I would require some kind of work to get in.

I'd love to do that too but also include guest rooms to take in some homeless and help them until they could get their lives back on track...

I just saw a news clip about actors taking winners (200) out to a complimentary dinner.
I can think of a few things they could have done instead.
What would you do for your city, state, country or world?

The world in general or my little world? lol
I think I would help the food production if I were to help people in the world. Exactly how I'm not sure but if I had alot of money I am sure I'd find a lot of advisors.

I would start my own business, invest in the stock market and give money to charities. I would probably bet on teams I think would win in professional sports

If I had a lot of money, I would open a facility for pre-teens/teens that would give them somewhere to go on the weekends/after school to have fun. It could include arcade games, billiards, dance club, game room for table top games, craft hall, writing hall, etc. This time in their lives is very volatile and they need to keep busy and discover new interests not only to keep out of trouble but to grow. I would also offer counseling services.

I would pay off student loans for me and my husband. I would buy our house outright. Invest some in stocks. Have a real honeymoon vacation since we could finally afford it. Pay back my dad for all the help he has given me over the years with school and finances. Buy two newer vehicles maybe hybrid or some with good gas mileage. I would also consider going back to school for an advanced degree since I would be able to take the time off from work without worrying about loans or bills. It may be selfish to say but I have to think about my family and friends first before helping out all of society. If there was money left over I might consider donating some to a local medical center that serves low income patients for donations. I would also put money into agencies like planned parenthood.

A lot of money?  GEt myself out of debt.....set up the children for a good start on life(debt free) save a little....and give the rest away to those who need it most...probably set up a micro-loan program.....

Some times I wounder if we really will do what we say we will do if we had alot of money. It easy to say what we will do when we don't have it.
If I had alot of money I would like to buy a house, pay all my debts, and also help my chuch out, but would I if I really had the money?

honestly, if I had alot of money, I would keep it towards retirement. I'd also try to invest and be frugal about it, so it will last hopefully throughout my lifetime.

I would go back to school to be a high school math teacher if I didn't have to worry about money. i love math and our country is very deficient in math and sciences. I would love to teach kids the importance of being good at simple (and advanced) math--it is so important, and a lot of kids who graduate high school can't even balance a checkbook.

i would help out my family and pay off everyone's depts and pay for a home for me and then save and invest for my kids and also help out people in need

I suppose that would depend on just how much "a lot" would actually be, but there is so much I would do. Oh so much I would do. For example, I'd make sure that any debt was paid off (be it mine or a family member's). I'd make sure that we (myself and family) are all taken care of, then I'd help charities (like St. Jude), and if I still had plenty left I'd set up a savings account that would accrue interest and generally help out when/where I can. I'd also be guilty of spending a bit on some things that are "for fun/just because", like going scuba diving or something.
