UPTIGHT
« on: April 25, 2012, 10:59:24 am »
Why are some members on here so uptight about the posts that are made and if they happen to be put in the wrong place? I was berated by several members for accidently putting a question in the wrong section. Dont understand the big deal? You would have thought that I commited murder or something. I thought this was for our enjoyment, not to belittled or judged like some people on here do. Opinions are one thing, but this some times gets out of hand. you can give your opinion about a subject without being mean or rude to someone. Try it sometime.  Just my opinion! :sad1:

It's not a matter of being uptight it's a matter of people not reading the topics. Support says "post here to get help from our staff and other members." Now for the specific thread you are talking about, hair gel has absolutely nothing to do w/getting help from staff or members. Pretty sure it should have went in Off-Topic which says "feel free to talk about anything unrelated to FusionCash -- but keep it PG!"

Well, as I said. I put it there merely by accident.  ::)

Sooooo....then you must have put this thread in "Support" by accident too? Because this thread is basically complaining about someone pointing out your error, and I don't see how you figure you need or will get support for your complaining.
Should have gone in maybe...."Off-Topic" or POSSIBLY "Fusion Cash" or MAYBE "Suggestions"...

but NOT posted in the "Support" area

How come it won't play?

When you start posts on the wrong threads your taking away from the people that may actually need help. When I come into the forum, I go to the support thread to see if anyone needs any help. When there is a whole ton of off-topic posts there, I just leave because I don't feel like siphoning through all the threads to find out who actually needs help. The actual support threads get pushed to the 2nd page and don't get answered.

Do you need help finding the proper threads? You can't just click on the "start new thread" block, you actually have to go to the thread you need to post in and then click on "start new thread."

No doubt "dmahoney" is catching on by now, so I'll not belabor this much further.  Just wanted to add @ "dmahoney", if you need any assistance or have questions about posting, go ahead and start a new thread in the off topic forum and we'll be glad to offer help.

Assistance was offered however, the poster has indicated she will not be seeing any more of such assisting posts.  What's it to you, are you her mother?

Another part of why people don't particularly like  to see things in the wrong topic areas is that it also makes the search function not work so well. When people are actually looking for information the answer may exist but be in the wrong place and that person may not be able to locate what they are looking for. Others similar to myself, don't ever look at the off topic discussions as they don't interest me so to have them show up randomly with such a high frequency , starts to become annoying. Admin has gone through and tried to do some clean up, but they also have better things to do with their time. So out of respect to them it would be more helpful if each of us paid more attention before starting a new discussion, rather than expecting all other members to keep digging around for answers or having to skip over non relevant posts. Or expecting admin to keep taking time out to clean things up. Once admin has cleaned things up, we as adult users should really be able to do our poart to help keep things neat and tidy around here.

I agree with your assessment, which is probably why I spoke up about the subject. It's also partly why newbies ask the same questions which have previously been answered - they probably don't want to wade through hairgel stuff, etc., in a forum labeled "Support" when they're requesting information concerning FC support for a problem either.
