I do keep a general tally of certain items shelved in the cabinets, but there are items that do stay there far longer than they should be to the point where I just have to throw them out. I'm actually pretty diligent on other functions within the household, but maintaining my pantry is something I could be better at.

Usually I'm pretty good about keeping the food stocks rotating adequately.  I try my best to use up everything I have before going shopping, which forces me to be a bit creative when I start running low.  The shelves I tend to neglect more often are my cleaning supply cabinets.  I know there are some cleaning supplies that become less effective over durations of time, and some of the items I have I barely use and sometimes the canister gets corroded due to the chemicals inside if it sits for too long.  Those I should probably get cleaned up annually - particularly if it's something I haven't used in a few years or if the package has become compromised.

Well I am a little better about it than I use to be ... Hubby is very picky about a clean fridge so I try to keep it very neat and tidy ... along with everything else in the house.  My closets could sure use some attention though .... I got one down and 4 to go  ::)

I'm really not that good at either. But we had already cleaned out cabinets awhile ago.Kept what we would use and tossed the rest.Nothing stays in my fridge long enough to get thrown out.

I'm usually better at keeping the fridge clean rather than the cabinets.  Our pantry is fairly deep and has a lot of items in it, and sometimes things just get forgotten in the back.  I try to check for old items a few times a year, though.
