Memorial Day
« on: May 26, 2012, 03:45:44 pm »
I hope everyone has had a great Memorial Day weekend. Especially Sunday and hopefully you don't have to work Monday. BBQ's , Family, Fun, Friends, Fire Works, but especially I hope you remember what it is really about. What does it mean to you and your loved ones, I know what it means to me. You?

One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

21 years and 3 months, United States Army.  I missed all the wars and didn't succeed in giving my life for my country, but I served with dedication and honor anyway.

I salute all my fellow veterans.

Well done, thank you sir.  Wasn't it Gen. Patton who is reported to have said, " ... the objective is to help the other poor b*****d die for his country ... "?

Holiday wishes to everyone.  My father and uncle served in WWII.  They were both very proud of the part they took.  My family line has fought in every war from WWII to the Revolution.   I always honor those who have fought for our freedom and the freedom of others. However, I don't believe in war if it is avoidable.

"Always"?  Even non-xtian military veterans?  How many wars were unavoidable?

Happy Memorial Day to all.  A special thanks and remembrance to all who served our country and to all who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms, and another thank you to those still serving.  My grandfather served in the Korean War, and served under General Patton.  My father served in the Army.  My husband and my father-in-law both are former Marines.  And my oldest son is currently serving in the Navy.
