« on: March 13, 2009, 02:39:14 pm »
Hi Everyone
I'm a first time mom blessed with a baby boy :binkybaby: well recently I figured out how to mix the powdered formula faster it use to take me a long time to get it to dissolve  :P but if you put half the water in the bottle and the correct amount of formula give it a couple of good shakes and add the rest of the water in the bottle your good to go powdered formula is dissolved in a few seconds ;D Im more than sure that everyone else knows this but I was shocked when I finally figuered it out ::) So this might help another new mom that didnt know this

Thank You

Congratulations on having a baby and being a new mommy!! You are blessed!!

I always found it was easier to warm the water up first, then do as you said.

I have two children so if you have any questions feel free to ask away, there are many mama's here on FC that won't be judgmental when giving advice!!

Congratulations.  My little girl will be 1 on Sunday (March 15th).  They grow up fast.

I know how excited I was to figure out how to mix the formula the same way.  It took me a little while before I figured it out, so don't feel bad.

Enjoy.

I'm a first time Mom too and hadn't figured this out...I will definitely have to try it today.

We've been using these special bottles called...Dr. Brown's natural flow...they have like a straw thing in them. We were using the drop-ins, but she was getting too much air and the nipples all kept letting air back...so frustrating. She seems to be doing better in the gas department now, but we now think she's battling not getting enough to eat/nutrients as she ALWAYS seems hungry so we're thinking about trying rice in her formula.

Wow...wonder where all that word vomit just came from. LOL!!!
The past is the past. Leave it there and keep moving. Today is a fresh start and if it doesn't turn out the way you wanted, tomorrow is coming no matter what.

there are lots of little tricks like that and you will learn them all, like warm tap water as opposed to warming in micro

Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy!  If that is his picture, he is adorable!  I wouldn't know about formula, I  breastfed my sons but when I had to use formula, I used the concentrated cans.  It was so easy!  I'm not even sure they had powdered formula when i was a first time mom almost 37 years ago. Ewwwww, that makes me feel so old!!! >:(

That works for anything else you need to mix too!
If you make mac n cheese, mix the powder with milk and then pour it into the noodles! No powder chunks! don't you feel so smart when you figure things out like that!

;D  Congratulations on being a mommy!!!! A healthy baby boy, I am so happy for you!! I have had two children and I breastfeed both so what you said is good information if any of my friends have problems with the formula, because I wouldnt have the slightest idea :dontknow:
