:angry7: I was feeling very positive working online and viewing websites to get paid for clicking and noticed that my computer was slowing down. My computer was taking a long time just to change to another website and then I noticed that my virus scan had a RED "X" then a RED "!". I could not start my security center started.

I remembered a website that would allow me to do a free scan, so I did it and oh my goodness, there was a lot of viruses and some of them said the threat level were listed as severe.

??? So why in the world would I continue to try to make a few $0.01 just to cause over $200 worth of damage to my computer.

I  bought BITDEFENDER Virus Program. They offer a 5 year program. The Customer pays for 5 years instead of one year. It blocks EVERYTHING. There are no loopholes like with Norton. Other virus protection programs block SOME things, not EVERYTHING and you end up with a virus you thought you were protected from.

I don't believe in those so called viruses that come from these types of sites. This websites would not be in operation if they did cause viruses.

I use the free version of AGV and am very happy with it.  I agree that Norton doesn't  always block everything.  AGV has saved my a@@ on more than one occasion!

If a site offers a free virus scan then they probably also offer a way to remove the viruses, if you pay. However, they sometimes claim that you have viruses that you don't just so you will buy their software.

I don't know if you know this by now,BUT
when you run those kinds of free scan by anti virus software companies they always tell you you have many virus threats on your computer, then tell you they can only clean(remove) just a few, this is so you'll be so scared about having viruses on your computer that you decide to buy their anti virus. I found this out by running my own virus test on my computer. 1st I have one of the top of the line antivirus software, it updates daily and even scans my email before it gets opened. I ran a complete scan of my system (all Drives) and came up with nothing found(not surprised), then I went to  one of those free virus scans and repeated the same scan (all Drives). I was surprised (No,make that shocked) to find it  had found 278 threats on my system. believe me it had me worried,so I went back to my software and did another scan just to relieve my nerves. again there was nothing found whew. just goes to show you don't believe anything those software scans tell you unless you can have it checked out by one you can trust.

The simple way to avoid all that crap for free is to access the Internet with Linux. You can dual boot it with Windows, run it from a pendrive or install it on an old computer, then the bad guys can't get in.

Clear history every time. I use Free Avast, but still sometimes I get these programs that grab my computer trying to get me to buy their stuff and block me from doing anything. If I can't do anything else I go to another user account in my computer and run the Spybot Search and Destroy and BANG! Gone and saved!

Still if that doesn't work just create another user account on your computer and start all over, forget about the old one or delete it.

Every time I try to complete a survey a message like this appears, "Trend Micro has confirmed that this website can transmit malicious software or has been involved in scams or frauds".  I am so frustrated because I want to fill out surveys but this message always appears.  Is anyone else having this problem and if so how do you solve it?
