How do you celebrate your birthday?
« on: June 10, 2012, 08:16:18 am »
My birthday was 06-09, and I had to work.   I do not care to go out on my birthday.  I need to know what should I have done on my birthday?

I usually go out for dinner with my friends and family, and of course there's cake and the whole singing thing...By the way, Happy Birthday to anyone who's birthday is coming up.

Interestingly, my birthday is 9/11.  I do not watch the news on my birthday.  I celebrate my birthday by going to the county fair with my family.

Interestingly, my birthday is 9/11.  I do not watch the news on my birthday.

That seems appropriate, given your religious convictions.

Just another day; don't care.  Birthdays stopped being fun/meaningful when I was...I dunno, 12.  I'll be in Thailand for my birthday this year, though, so that's pretty cool!

Travel is cool.  I agree concerning birthdays and if any "celebration" occurs at all, it is when I give gifts to others on that day, (not because it confuses them sometimes but, to indicate that a natal return isn't very significant to me by reverse emphasis).  Have fun in Thailand when you go; business or pleasure?

Usually I like to go out to my favorite restaurant...with my husband.  I don't usually go on my birthday, because my birthday is on Valentine's Day!

Mine is at the end of the month, usually my husband will make a special meal for me.  He's a chef, so I get the royal treatment :D

i've always hung on to the celebratory birthday tradition
of cake and candles, a get together, opening gifts, etc.
this year i'd like to acknowledge it by starting the book
i've always meant to write. it would be a present to myself,
just to start it and maybe see it as more than a document
on my computer by my 30th birthday.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I am 39 and still holding. I don't want to do anything for my birthday. Besides if i did someone would insist on putting all the candles on the cake and would have to call the fire dept. Just joking. Love spending time with family and maybe going out to eat so i don't have too cook. I am 69 and don't need a thing and if i did i would go buy it before i would say anything about wanting something.
