I only drink regular soda, when I do drink it. But it doesn't make me hyper. Red Bull, RockStar, Monster energy drinks, none of it even touches me! Guess I have an immunity of sorts?  :angry7:

Caffine drinks for sure! I haven't ever liked diet drinks, I'm not sure that I would want to like diet drinks!

dont trust diet soda. The things they add are bad since its artificial, not to mention it only makes u crave for more food.

I'm addicted to Coke it doesn't get me hyper but my body does ask for it and diet always leaves an after taste

Since I'm diabetic, if I do drink pop, it's the diet version. They have the same caffeine content as their regular counterparts but they don't have the sugars that may give people (esp. kids it seems) a "sugar high". I actually like the taste of diet in certain drinks. To me, the diet versions have more of a tart, fruity flavor so pops that are citrus / fruit based taste better as a diet than as regular (eg 7-Up, Sprite, Mt. Dew, etc.). But others that have a richer flavor taste better as a regular drink than as diet (eg Root Beer, Colas, Cream Sodas). For the energy drinks, a lot of the energy is derived from the B-Vitamins that aid in metabolism. The caffeine content is higher for these energy drinks than it is for pops, but is a lot less than the caffeine content in coffee and some teas. I actually like Red Bull Zero the best; it doesn't have as much of a medicinal taste as regular Red Bull yet it still has 0 calories.

Some experts say that diet soda is worse than caffinated, partly because people tend to drink more than the full strength version. I agree with you, the taste is bad no matter what kind of sweetener is used. I save soda for a treat. The carbonation is hard on your system. That's why school athletic coaches require their players to get off it all together. Water, lemonade, tea are still the best alternatives. If you're on a diet and can handle the lactose, milk actually helps you loose weight. I've read that in a number of articles. :)

I like the full-leaded stuff myself; I've tried a diet coke before and just don't like that artificial taste.  The caffeine from coffee nor from soft drinks has any effect on me as far as making me hyper.  I can go right to sleep after drinking a cup of coffee.
