Bennigan's - good restaurants
« on: June 16, 2012, 06:20:29 am »
We don't have a Bennigan's in Fort Myers anymore.
I did like their restaurant.
There was a nice atmosphere and decent food.

There was another good restaurant in Cape Coral with a mild curry dish, not too hot and spicy like the restaurants with proprietors  from  India have.
I can still remember that first Indian restaurant I went to when I lived in Chicago.

What is Bennigans? Is it a chain or a local restaurant?

Hello Gerianne,
I live in Lehigh Acres. I did not know there was a Bennigans here before now. I am sorry I missed it. I remember going to a Bennigans years ago and I loved it because I was born on Saint Patrick's Day. I love living in southwest Florida because I can't handle the cold weather any more. Are there any other restaurants you can suggest in Fort Myers?

I heard about a new restaurant, Bahama Breeze.  I believe their specialty is Caribbean Food.  I have never eaten there, because I don't live in Florida.

I never heard of it.  They don't have one where I live.

I have heard of this restaurant before, but never ate there. I hardly ever see them around though.

It has been several years ago, but we ate at a Bennigan's that was attached to a Best Western Motel in Clear Lake, Iowa.  I think that it was pretty good.  They are comparable to other bar-type restaurants like Applebee's.

WE dont have them down here in alabama (at least not in the birmingham area). I used to go when i lived in minnesota and loved the monte cristo sandwich, although it is a stroke and heart attack waiting to happen!

I don't really like chain restaurants like TGIF, Bennigan's, etc. Their food tastes almost microwaved to me. Sorry in advance if I offended anyone here who may cook for them. I think maybe it's because for a lot of years when I was working full time, I traveled a lot for business and ate at tons of chain restaurants.

I really like going to local restaurants that offer something different. I love the food shows on the Travel Channel and the Food Network, and my husband and I will always try to visit a restaurant that was featured on one of the episodes.

I used to love Bennigan's but they got rid of most of them in the area.  Good breakfast, ok for lunch/dinner.  Overall nothing special but did its job in the casual, love cost food space.

I don't think I've ever been to Bennigans - I can't believe there aren't any around here (NJ) but I just haven't ever been there.

There use to be several bennigans in NJ but they have all closed or become something else. I would compare it to an Applebees type restaurant/Bar.
