Coupons!!
« on: June 20, 2012, 07:23:04 am »
I've been noticing this for a long time now. once upon a time you would save well with coupons...not it's like buy 2 or 3 things and get that dollar off...what kind of savings is that UGH!!......do you still use coupons often?

Yes, I stay away from those unless the items are on sale. They try to get you to buy more than you need  :P

I faithfully look through the store ads in my sundays paper to see what's on sale.  I usually wait to buy something on sale as well unless my coupons are about to expire.  If it's something I really want, I'll go ahead and buy it. ;D

Those type of sales are annoying unless it's something you usually invest in.  When you have a coupon, it's even better. lol

I only use the coupons for the things I use a lot. so when I buy 2 or three at a time it just means I don't have to buy it as often.

I hardly use coupons because they don't have coupons for stuff I actually buy, and yeah, they usually require that you buy a bunch of things just to save a small amount.

I use coupons alot.  Usually when I use them, I wait until the store has the item on sale and double value of coupon.  Then I buy 2 or 3 of them.  Which in turn saves me money.  I normally have coupons every time I go to the store.  Sometimes if I didn't have a coupon I would not pay full price for that item.

Ilove coupons and I envy those people on extreme couponing lol. The stores where I live don't double the value  so I can't accrue the savings they do- dang it! lol but I still love coupons; if I save 50 cents on somethhing I have to buy anyway then it's worth it.

The show is a fake. People don't actually save that much when couponing.

My daughter is living proof, she one day shoped at Shaws and the tally was over 100 dollars, with her coupon savy she got the total down to 20 bucks, so it CAN be done :)

Eh, sometimes it works? I don't really coupon much, because I suck :P
But there was a soda one that worked out for me. It was buy two, the soda was on sale, came down to around 80 cents a bottle, which was cheaper than the generic.
If you have the room or can use the product before it goes bad (or donate it...), then nothing outright wrong with the multiple purchases.

It's possible to save a lot, but the managers of the stores that they shopped at have come out and said that they double coupons for the people on the show that they don't usually double for other customers. So yes, it is fake.
