Cloth Diapering

Do any moms out there cloth diaper? I'm going to be a new mom in September and I'm doing tons of research online into cloth diapers, but it would be great to hear some personal experience stories and recommendations!

I didn't cloth diaper, but wish I had. My sister is. If I had to do it over again, I would do cloth.

I USED CLOTH DIAPERS YEARS AGO. IT DIDN'T SEEM TO MATTER WHAT DETERGENT I USED MY DAUGHTER BROKE OUT ON HER BEHIND. I HAD TO GO TO DISPOSABLE.

My mother used cloth diapers on all of us. The only time she used disposable is if we were traveling or visiting. It is extra work, but they don't leak as much and I think they are easier on the kid's rear end. Also you save a LOT of money by using cloth diapers.

My girlfriend had two little ones in diapers at the same time and she did the cloth diapers.  She liked them and got a good system, but when it dropped down to only one in diapers she started doing more and more disposable just because it really is so easy and convenient.  If you have the time and determination you will save a lot of money~go for it! =)

I used cloth diapers on my children. you need to double rinse them, also used small disposable liner in them, so when they did a number 2 it was easy to get rid of and kept the diapers cleaner. Then when they were potty trained you still had great cleaning rags.

I am 70 years old. My mother used cloth diapers on all of us and one of my first "jobs" as the oldest child was to rinse out the soiled diaper of my younger siblings. I used cloth on my children too. I can not believe how much money parents spend on disposable diapers. A friend in the retail business said disposable diapers was one of the most shop lifted items. Try cloth at first and see if you can do it. Good luck.

I am 71 years old and I used cloth diapers on all my children.  I did not know what disposeable diapers were with the first 2 I had but when my last one for born they sent him home in a disposeable diaper.  But I had cloth diapers for him too.  I remember at night after I got off from work, I would come home, cook supper, clean kitchen and wash diapers and dry them and before I went to bed I would fold them.  I think if alot of people would use cloth diapers today they would be able to have alot more money to pay on other things.  I guess poeple have gotten use to having them that they don't know how much money it would save them.  Hope everyone has a good weekend and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

I didnt do it but I have friends that do it and they save some much money doing it. I have a friend with twins and she said with cloth diepers she save almost 5oo.oo dollars a month. if I would have know of the saveing I would have done it.

I started using cloth diapers on my children for the ecology, but in both cases, I found that I was changing them every couple hours, and that the diapers stayed very, very wet, which was more corrosive on their skin. When I went back to Pampers, the diaper rashes all but went away. Also, by the time we consider the cost of detergent, hot water wash, electricity to run the washer and dryer, I don't know how much more we save.
