I don't really believe sex changes are natural. If someone really feels uncomfortable in their own skin, there may be some kind of underlying issue in the persona of that individual rather than something as simple as "they wanted to do it". I'm not vehemently opposed to it, but I am not as liberal to it as some of the above posters.

A sex change is definitely not natural, but a person can do what they want to their body.  I hope that the person has had a lot of therapy before they go through with this major change. I saw a program a few years ago where a man transitioned into a woman. She got married or lived with boyfriend (don't recall) and few years later regretted her decision to transition. She spoke as if she's okay and will continue to live as a woman, but I wonder how a person can truly deal with that kind of regret.

If you are going to do it, think long and hard about your decision, because if you change your mind, like some people do several times, the public will be paying for that person to flip-flop genders. Other than that, I think it's fine!!

I wouldn't necessarily call it natural but we do a lot of unnatural things, gastric bypass, tattoos, piercings, implants, cosmetic surgery, hair transplants, etc.. so who is to say a sex change is any different. Do what you want with your body as long as your don't harm others or yourself.

Is it natural? Should someone have the right to do this? What are your thoughts.
Ouch, yuck, and who would think this to be right... What other kind of animal would even ponder something so unnatural than the one that calls itself the smartest of all animals, sometimes I wonder???????????? :dontknow: :angry7: :crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2:

I used to wonder why some ignorant people choose to intentionally blind themselves with religious faith, eschew reason and then pretend that they are "smarter" than amoebas like fundie xtians do.

“Recalling some of the most spectacular horrors of history -- the burning of heretics and witches at the stake, the wholesale massacre of "heathens," and other no less repulsive manifestations of xtian "civilization" in Europe and elsewhere -- modern man is filled with pride in the 'progress' accomplished, in one line at least, since the end of the dark ages of religious fanaticism.”

I believe that a person's body is their own. That is their shell to live out their life. If they don't like the shell they live in, they can change it to accommodate their desires. The only thing I must encourage is that no matter how you choose to alter your vessel, do so SAFELY. Sex changes, tattoos, plastic surgery, etc. should ALL be done by professionals with experience.

I support anyone who goes through the long and painful process of making this change both psychologically and physically. I can't even imagine how hard it would be to feel trapped in your own body.  There is a tremendous amount of psychological "work" that comes with this process of change. Anyone who is willing to go through the requirements for each step of the transition has my respect.  It's not an easy process and dealing with our judgmental society makes it the process even harder.

A person definitely should have the right to change their appearance or their bodies as they choose. However, they cannot EVER change who they are, or what they were born as: male or female.

So, let's say a person was physically born as a hermaphrodite but, not psychologically as neither, they don't get to 'pick a lane and drive in it' either?

Having a sex change in my opinion is disgusting.  This world is becoming more and more corrupted for no damn reason.  Just because everyone wants to be different?  Well hello, we all are different! no one is exactly like anyone else.  I mean not even identical twins have the same finger prints.  How much more different do people want to be?  Everyone wants to be accepted while still standing out!!  this world is filled with oximorons and yet everyone has to go along with it or theres a problem.  Well then, i guess theres nothing but problems because in my opinion people are becoming more sick in the head with every passing year.. :BangHead:morons!!

I don't know about natural. I can't tell anyone else what is right or wrong or what to do with their bodies. Most people that have a sex change go through extensive therapy to help them cope and decide why they want to do it and I think that is good. when you hear stories about that these people say that something always felt off about them, they were never comfortable in their own skin so if that's what they decide then I'm happy for them
