Music - Music Festivals - Upcoming Concerts
« on: June 28, 2012, 10:22:42 pm »
I am really into LIVE Music. I have heard a lot of bands, and their albums. When you go to their concerts that is when you can really tell how great they are.

In the studio, they can do a lot to make someone or the band sound really good. Then you go see them LIVE and it does not even sound like them.

I am creating this feed so we all can talk about concerts we have been too, or concerts that are coming up that you are interested in. I am interested in any concert past or present. I followed "The Grateful Dead" from 1989 when I graduated High School to 1995 when Jerry Garcia died. Then I seen "The Dead' down in Bonnaroo in 2004, with Warren Haynes doing Jerry. That was a great and one of the BEST Concerts I have ever seen.

The Association recorded a live album 4/3/70 at university of Utah.A 1 shot deal. Those of you that enjoy vocal harmony i highly recommend buying this CD that the Japanese re-did.

Their harmony will blow you away how well they sang in an environment where the air wasnt good cos of the high altitude that night.

Thanx Anthony

I think the best concert I have went to was at last year's Crawfish Broil in Birmingham, AL.  Weezer, Stone Temple Pilots, Sublime, Cage the Elephant, Nelly, and several others performed.  I mainly went to see Stone Temple Pilots, and they didn't disappoint.  I had read reviews of some of their recent concerts where fans had said that Weiland was a little out of it, and struggled a bit on some of the dates, but he seemed completely sober and performed well.

My favorite concert I've been to is Kylie Minogue. She can put on a hell of a show. Vince Gill is pretty amazing live as well.

I am more of a recorded music fan, but I do go to the occasional concert.  I saw the Cars back in their earlier days (around '80).  They had a good live sound.  Some of the better shows I have seen over the years...Three Dog Night,  Kansas,  Doobie Brothers.
