Worst thing ever said to you?

What's the worst thing a loved one ever said to you?

One that sticks out in my mind, is my father telling me not to get fat shortly before my wedding.

Hearing "jesus saves" one too many times, (though it's likely that one of the worst things someone who said that to me heard was my reply, 'if so, the only one who can "save" me from haysus is me').

If "jesus saves", he'd be losing equity by not having a more diversified investment portfolio.

Harsh.  I'm told I was sarcastic, (and nimble), even at a young age and would've replied "you first".

The worst thing anyone ever said to me was when I went to spatula city for the buy 5 get 1 free deal and they said they were OUT OF STOCK.  Nah, I don't know.  I deal with so many people on a weekly, monthly, yearly basis it all becomes fuzzy.  If someone says something halfway constructive I usually just reply I've been called worse by better.   =-P

Regardless of how harsh or mean loved ones (of course how loving are they if they're that mean to you?) can be...its all about how you deal with it.  You can choose to be bitter because of unfair treatment when you're young, or you can push it aside and vow to be a better person than the one you had treating you poorly.

I don't have anything that stands out as particularly traumatic. I have plenty of family members and friends that have absolutely no filter so if it comes to them they're going to tell you so I've heard so pretty harsh things
