Genesis 9:8-14 (The Living Bible)
« on: July 06, 2012, 09:11:07 pm »
Then God told Noah and his sons, "I solemnly promise you and your children and the animals you brought with you - all these birds and cattle and wild animals - that I will never again send another flood to destroy the earth. And I seal this promise with this sign: I have placed my rainbow in the clouds as a sign of my promise until the end of time, to you and to all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will be seen in the clouds, and I will remember my promise to you and to every being, that never again will the floods come and destroy all life. For I will see the rainbow in the cloud and remember my eternal promise to every living being on the earth."

Then God told ...

There's no evidence, (the "bible" does not constitute evidence; it constitutes hearsay), that some hypothetical egregore "told" anyone, anything.  They've merely claimed this, sans substantive evidence, on the basis of either blind faith or, psychosis, (which are essentially equivalent).

"A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything."
-- Friedrich Nietzsche

Are you claiming that there has never been another flood that caused mass destruction? What planet have you been on?

Are you saying there has been another flood in the same scope?

Everytime I see a rainbow in the skies I find myself saying "I do set my bow in the skies".  It reminds me of God's love and promises

Those are delusions, based upon empty faith.  Rainbows have a non-religious basis of manifestation in atmospheric light refractions ... but then, that's too complicated for someone who'd prefer to simply declare "g-ddidit".
