Taking a cruise to the bahamas soon. Will be stopping in Nassau and Freeport. Anybody have any suggestions of where to go and what to do? Or maybe where not to go? Thanks for the tips.

we went to the bombers last full last Christmas .and we had a good time I suggest you try try scuba diving it's a lot of fun. We had a lot of fun on the cruise. We was on Carnival Cruise line it was very enjoyable. I had got my picture taken this the front of the sciences mamas and I learned a lot but my sons and daughter-in-law's and daughter and son-in-law and we had a lot of fun together. They all went to the big water slide line when scuba diving on Bahamas my wife had to stay on the ship.  I went scuba diving so she had stay on the ship while we're in the Bahamas because she didn't have nobody to go with her weight and her scooter while we were there so so she had stay on the ship. We took a lot of pictures I had some beautiful pictures of the sunset always there.

If you have time take a ride on one of the JITNEY busses that transport the locals around the island. Also, you might check out some of the old churches on the island. I still love the sound of the steel bands and I have a CD I listen to that reminds me of my trip. :)

It's been awhile since I've been to the Bahamas but I'm sorry to say that Nassau is not the place. The place to go is Paradise Island its a lot more fun. The people are nicer and its beautiful and amazing. Fortunately, it is only a 20-30 minute drive from Nassau and you will have the time of your life. I love it!  Check out the night sky it's incredible. :)

I agree, we went to Freeport for a few nights and melted right into the culture to enjoy the people. Walked around the stores where the residents shopped and sat on a bleacher seat at the local school one evening talking to people who came to jog. The only tourist thing we did was attend a native show that was pretty cool. There are two buses and we took the dollar one with the rest of the non-tourists.

Be very careful of where you take pictures in Nassau! I accidently took some pictures of what turned out to be government buildings and I got detained! Be sure you have your cruise docs and passport on you!
