"Cell Phone Bill May See an Increase:

According to the phone companies the increase will help develop faster service and add more features.

Verizon says it will drop its new every two plan for upgrading phones.

ATT says it will be ending some discounts and raising rates as early as this weekend.

Sprint is jacking up rates for smart-phone by $10/month.

Current customers won't be affected, but new buyers will pay the higher rate at the end of the month."

Charging more for some dubiously-vague "improvements" in this economy is a poor excuse for increasing profit margins.

We are fortunate that my husband works for a huge company that provided discounts on AT&T, so our bill went down.

Yeah, the cell phones are sure costly, but let's not forget the internet.  Any internet that isn't ponderously slow (and even some that are) is prohibitively expensive, especially in rural areas.

I'm sorry if my recondite verbiage is a little difficult to understand sometimes.  Using fancy vocabulary really is fun, you should try it!

I have metropcs so the price never changes and it's low and for the places where i don't get service i use wifi and i don't really use my phone to call people so the lack of service in some areas doesn't bother me as long as i can text

I have a prepaid phone and I only use every now and then. Mostly I take pictures of my son at the park or something.

wow if you have a job you should have to pay your own cell phone bill. i now when i was a teen i sure did it's only right don't live off your parents if you have a job.  I don't have a smart phone i have the internet at home w/ a laptop so theres no reason for my phone to have those features a basic txting phone w/a camera does it so the bill isn't high :)

I'm considering getting pre-paid. My monthly bill is ridiculous

I am with verzion and it is $89 a month.  When my contract is up in Oct.  I am going to get rid of them and get straight talk from Walmart.  It is only $45 a month.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

My cell phone bill doesn't go up as much as my cable.  I have to switch carriers all the time.

I pay $189 a month to ATT for many years!  I always cringe but it has been the best solution I have had.  It is business and personal and internet and texting and 2 other phones of which their portion is only $15 and $10 plus taxes.  Constantly on the road.  At least my data plan is grandfathered for unlimited.  The time I lowered the plan I went over.  The plan I have is actually more minutes than I need BUT the way it allows certain numbers to be free no matter when or how much I call them makes it cheaper to just keep the overkill plan.

Pay as you go is they way to go considering you can chat with most people for FREE on Facebook, Skype, etc. I only use my phone when I absolutely have to, so it ends up costing like $10 a month.

I am not going to pay hundreds of dollars for a phone, riduculous. magic jack is twenty dollars a year, lol. I don't have one anymore though, a goofy seventeen year old I was babysitting broke it, and now I have my reason why a seventeen year old needed a babysitter. costs are too high, because everyone has to have it, they can get away with it.

Using pre-paid. I don't get a sweet smart phone, but it's a heck of alot cheaper.
