How do you clear your cache & cookies?

I've seen people give this advice a few times but I don't know how to do it.  Please help?

It depends on what browser you are using. 

You can do a Google Search on "how to clear cookies and cache" and you will get directions for all the browsers.

Here is how I clear my cookies and Cache on Firefox:
Firefox 3.5 and above for Windows

    From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History... . Alternatively, in Firefox 4 and above, you can also click the orange Firefox button, and then select Clear Recent History from the History menu.

    From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything.

    Click the down arrow next to "Details" to choose what history elements to clear (e.g., check Cookies to clear cookies). Click Clear Now.

jkhanson is correct, it does depend on what browser you are using as far as what to click on to get to where you need to go so you can clear your data. I use Google Chrome. Whenever I need my cookies, etc. obliterated I just click on the little wrench icon next to the address bar and select History (or you can press ctrl+h), from there you can either delete individual things or everything at once.

plus you can go to start >>all programs>>accessories>>system tools and right click disk clean and add to start menu or create shortcut to desk top. This disk cleanup allows you to clear most of the junk on your pc.

Here's how to do it in Opera:


In Opera, clearing all caches, history and cookies is a matter of a few clicks.

Clear Private Data, Empty Caches and Remove Cookies in Opera

To delete cached data, cookies and your browsing history in Opera after accessing your email account on the web:

Select Tools | Delete Private Data... from the menu in Opera.
Click Detailed Options.
Make sure
Delete temporary cookies,
Delete all cookies,
Delete password protected pages and data,
Delete entire cache,
Clear history of visited pages and
Clear history of downloads
are checked.
Click Delete.

You can also use CCleaner to clear Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer all at once while you are cleaning other things from your computer. Make sure the right boxes are checked and that those browsers are closed at that time of the cleaning.

You want to clear them. I think in your case you might want to use CCleaner as it will be simpler for you to use and covers the main browsers.
