yes i study english as my foreign language

That would account for some things and not others, (perhaps depending upon the native tongue).
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I'm trying to learn German. I did the trial of Pimsleur, but never paid for the full course because it's too much money. I did learn some from that though, and now I'm mostly trying to figure it out on my own through different websites online. I wish there was a cheap course that was easy to learn. Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone are both too expensive.

Back in the day a foreign language was not required in high school, so I didn't study one.  I would like to learn spanish though.  I think it would come in handy.

German, I spent a total of almost 26 years in Germany with the US Army and in civilian employment.  After that many years, it's kind of inevitable that you learn the language.

I have studied: German, Greek, Hebrew, some Korean, some French.  At the end of the day I really hope that I can still speak English.

I studied French in high school but that was sooooo long ago ;)  I think all kids today should study at least one language and become proficient in it.  The world is so small today, I think I am at a disadvantage without the second language.

I studied Spanish in High School, many moons ago. Just wished they had started the emersion course when I was in School. That is the best way to learn a language

I learned a few languages in my life. But it's really hard to keep it.

Yes, I'm sort of studying several. Trying to relearn a couple while trying to learn others. It's really hard for me though since I'm having to basically teach myself by reading (or rather attempting to read) the language and use dictionaries or translators to help me learn words. Then for speaking/understanding spoken word I watch programs (usually sports) that are broadcast in those languages. Eventually, I'll be taking proper classes or something to help me when I can afford it.
