Stop Signs

Has anyone noticed more and more people are not stopping at stop signs, just slowing down and coasting through?

Unfortunately it is a sign of the times we live in ... everyone is in a hurry to get where they are going.

My sister actually got in an accident once because someone ran a stop sign and hit her. I can understand being in a hurry, but not doing something dangerous that can end up slowing you down or stopping you if you get hurt or killed, or hurt someone else.

Yes more and more folks are ignoring stop sign, it makes it longer to get anywhere. most folks around here have no clue what to do at 4 way stop signs.

Well, you don't have to stop at the stop signs with the white around the border.  I thought everyone knew that!

I thought it was just this corner, that people ignore the two stop signs and the fact that it is a residentual area with young children.  There is nothing in this town to be in such a hurry for.

I've noticed that there are certain stop sign that people are just prone to coasting right through. I pay close attention when going by those ones. We saw a car accident the other day and my 12 year old was looking right at it. It was a tbone, so it was pretty terrible. My daughter just kept bringing it up over and over again. I'm thinking when she starts to drive she will always remember that and hopefully be a good driver.

 its called a california slow roll. if was save to just slow down there would be a yield sign. to run a stop sign is not only illegal but very unsafe period

The one and only time i ran a stop signwas when i came down off a hill and a little over the speed limit. I learned in a hurry too stop at them. Oh yeah the judge laughed his fool head off because of my ticket. But on the other hand i was t-boned by another car running one, spent 8 months in therepy, 3 months into therepy another car ran a red light and rear ended me, putting me back 3 months of therpy. So i believe everyone should stop for them, they are there for a reason. I see them everyday on my street running them.

It's best to stop at a stop sign for it is just a matter of time before one gets into an accident.
