I have heard for a few years now that some flowers are edible.  I have read about people foraging for rose hips and such.  So I finally got curisous enough to find out some things about which flowers are edible and how they are used.  It took me 2 days to convince myself to eat a bagonia.  Well, they are acutally pretty good.  Simular to rhubarb, not as bitter.  Now I am starting a reputation of the crazy flower eating lady.  LOL

Do you eat flowers?  How do you feel about that?

No I do not and I have never ever heard anyone who do until know. Do they taste good?

Have heard of this and have seen them used for just apperance on plates.  Never tried it personally nor have I reseached to see what is edible and what is not.

Yes the bagonia taste like rhubarb, but not as bitter.  My granddaughter likes merrigolds, they have a citrus taste to them.  I read that people use them when cooking eggs.

I have heard of people eating certain kind of flowers, but never have done that.  Not really sure if I would ever try that.  I am mostly a fruit and vegetable person.  I think flowers are grown to be looked at and not eaten.  I quess to each his own.

I have never eaten any flowers but I am interested in knowing and trying ones are edible.  I know people used dandelions for tea, wine and greens.  I do know that they suggest that you don't eat edibles that are near the street, you never know if they have been sprayed with pesticides or a dogs have relieved themselves on them.

I've never eaten a flower, but I have heard some are edible.

Technically, a flower is a plant - as long as it's not a poisonous plant, there's no reason it cannot be edible.  It's just most flowers are not very tasty.   

Growing up, we had meadows full of purple flowering clover (I think that's what they were).  We found if you pulled out the little flower pedals and sucked on the stems, they tasted like honey.  We tried chewing the pedals, and those were very bitter.  After that, we just stuck to sucking on the pedal stems.

I too used to pull the purple clover and chew the ends, and we also ate dandelion greens (had to pick them when they first came out otherwise they were very bitter.  I also heard that you can eat cattails (the ones that grow on the side of the roads where it gets wet.)

I have never ate flowers. The closest thing for me to tasting flowers are garnishing dried rose petals to specialty drinks I’ve made for customers at the restaurant. I wouldn’t mind eating fresh rose petals. If they’re good for you, whatever taste it is I can handle just about anything that suppose to benefit the human health.

I think it would be a good idea to know which ones are edible, in case you are lost without food, or the world falls apart (LOL).
In any other case I do not see any nutritional advantage.

I think it's so weird lol but it sure makes the dish look pretty!  I'm sure if I was served something with flowers I wouldn't turn it down I am always willing to try something new.
