Help me understand
« on: August 26, 2012, 05:07:07 pm »
Can someone help me understand how a father can just stop caring for his kids? The kids are 19 and 17. Does that make a difference? The 19 year just had a birthday this past Thursday and his father has yet to even call him. I don't understand it. It hurts me to see my kids hurting and knowing I can't do anything for them but be there.

Some people just suck.  What can you do about it?  Maybe he forgot about the birthday.

Maybe he truly forgot about his birthday. As a father, he really shouldn't have but if you look at the issue with different perspectives, maybe he had a work or health emergency. You should give him a call and ask. He owes his son an explanation.

It could be that he forgot, but I wouldn't know.

I don't know how some parents just don't care about their kids.  I work at a mini golf and you'd be amazed how parents will just let their kids run around and do whatever as if getting hurt or kidnapped isn't a concern.  We have a waterfall and kids will climb out to the edge (over a fence) and the parents will yell at us (the employees) for telling their kids to get off the rock.
