Let's talk movies

Just bought Hunger Games and I have to say that it would have been better if they cut out the first hour.  It doesn’t get good until the Hunger Games begin and the problem is that first hour you need to sit through doesn’t even build up excitement to the games.  It’s slow and rather boring.  All you can think about is, ‘does this get better?’  It does but like I said it’s the second hour of the movie.  I suggest you watch it once all the way through then every time you rewatch it start half way through when the games start.  I’d only give this movie about 3stars and personally while the games themselves are good that first half is so dull it kills the movie.

I just got Lockout.  It’s the latest Guy Pearce movie.  Now while he’ll probably only be known for Momento this is an awesome must have Guy Pearce movie.  Especially if your into solid action with those one guy against a lot plots.  The action is great and Guy Pearce’s sarcasm is just the right touch for humor without overkill.  If you enjoy die hard (for plot not just Bruce Willis) you at least need to see this once.  It’s a syfy and the computer graphics are easy to spot but Pearce’s presents (especially in those ‘exchanges’ with Maggie Grace) is undeniable.  This was definitely a movie meant for him and it is such a shame he isn’t more known otherwise this movie wouldn’t have been such a dud at the box-office.

I first saw the computerized cartoon Robots on tv and had to get the movie. I had to get like I get all the cartoons with Robin Williams in them.  I just love him in Robots and if he wasn’t in it I never would have gotten it.  That’s why every time I watch it I start at Capital City rather than at the beginning of the movie.  Who cares watching Rodney grow up getting hand-me-down parts?  It’s totally Robin Williams as Fender that makes the cartoon.

I watched an oldie (not so old) last night  I Robot, with Will SMith. I really like science fict movies., especially ones that could be true in the future.

Guilty pleasure time:  I am watching Whoever Slew Auntie Roo? which is one of those movies from the '60s and '70s that were along the same line as Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?  It's kind  of fun watching a legendary actress (Shelley Winters in this case) chew up some scenery in a grand old way.
