Definitely not.  I believe manners are still well and alive its just many other things such as "freedom of everything."  Now since everyone feels that they can say when they want to say it doesn't necessarily make it correct.  Not only, but this world has become way too fasted pace so no one is worrying about the person behind them.  But I am fortunate enough to still experience people with manners everyday.  In my opinion you get what you give.  If your constantly curtious to other people, they will be just as kind.

In order too have good manners, you are usually brought up with them. But sometimes  i wonder where in the world other people are from, I was brought up to do unto others as you would like done unto you. Babies don't come into this world with bad manners they are usually learned from family and peers.

I don't know if manners are a thing of the past. You can't say all of the younger generations has no manners or all of them do. Some do and some don't. When I have some free time, every now and then I watch a lot of coronet films on youtube. They are interesting and cover such topics as table manners, dating, physical appearance etc. These films were back in the 50s.... so manners may be a thing of the past actually.

I think for a lot of people, yes. people are LAZY. I teach manners to my daughter. Basic things like please and thank you, putting shopping carts away, etc.

Yes I do think manners have seems to disappeared.  I just don't think it is taught.  I see parents with their children in stores that are (to me) misbehaving) and wonder to myself why she/he don't discipline them.  I never spanked my child, all I had to do was give her "that look" or point my finger down (meaning sit down and behave).
Pet peeves:
Slow driver in the passing lane, talking/text while driving, not slowing down and moving to the left when their is car/trucks/cops stopped on the side of the road, not using turn signals and those who weave in/out of traffic just to get ahead.

I especially hate when I am referred to as "honey" or "sweetie" by anyone.

I agree that a lot of people are too lazy to even care.
