« on: September 06, 2012, 12:18:17 pm »
Anyone tried the Keto Diet?
I am cooking up some yummy keto friendly eats for my darling husband in support of his new diet!
I made and assortment of mini quiche for on the go breakfast, keto cheese "crackers" to snack on, and baked tilapia for his lunches!

I never "diet", so I'm not up on these things as they pop up.  What exactly is the Keto Diet?  Is it a particular food, or regimen to follow?

Those sure look delicious, but what is the keto diet?  I never diet, I actually hate that word, but if it's a lifestyle or certain cuisine, I'm interested.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Ketogenic diets for people with Epilepsy?

I posted a link that tells what Keto is but basically you do not eat refined carbs at all. It eliminates sugar and it great for diabetics, people that eat gluten free, and anyone that wants to lose fat and gain muscle mass.

This Keto diet is similar to Atkins I suppose. The soup looks rich and creamy.  :)

Atkins is based on Ketosis and is one of the many options as well as the South Beach. It was awesome ! I never would have thought you could replace potato with cauliflower !
